Cleetus Doppleganger says:

whats an o2j?

scirockalot8v says:

They make nice pumps that screw on the bottles. This was kinda of spur of the moment to change it. And yes always remove the fill plug first. I didn’t even think about it getting stuck.

PERFECT!! THANK !!!

Scott Hanson says:

Great video! I would also recommend running a tube and funnel through the engine bay instead of shooting in in the fill plug, little bit easier to do.

Florim Sokoli says:

vwtania says:

take a garden hose and fill it from the top (:-P

Arthur Eng says:

It will be the same process for your 1.8t since the trans are almost identical.

acuna6261 says:

Would it be the same process for a 04 golf gti 1.8t ?

buhrrito says:

I’m not the best mechanic and I’m not the worst but just a tip you should always remove the filler first incase you can’t open it (stripped or whatever) and you drain it first there will still be fluid in it.

LurkerDanny says:

Go get an undercarriage wash at your local drive through car wash

Arthur Eng says:

I’m afraid to do this because I got black widows in this bitch. Mk4 golf 2.0

Luis Angon says:

How do you know which transmission you have?

Chris Taylor says:

nope … there is no dipstick on a vw transmission . only way to know is to drain it
or pop the fill port open and put ur finger in there

Chris Taylor says:

good stuffs and as mentioned before ALWAYS open the fill port before the drain port and instead of basically tryn to squirt the fluid in i use a funnel with a 2ft long flexable hose i got from harbor freight , they also sell it on ecstuning

S.O.A.D. РУЛИТ!!!!!

Luis Angon says:

Luis Angon says:

97k miles for a02? wow, my 2000 has 209k

rzorNvme says:

Is there a way to see if you’re low on that fluid

juan gomez says:

How was third gear after that?

Brady Caves says:

also a magnetic drain plug is a nice thing to re install. ecs tuning sels a whole git up for the change.

Brady Caves says:

this is also a great time to change the dogbone mount bushings or entire mount, at 100k the soft bushings are usually shot by then and could be done in the time that you wait for the tranny to totally drain. Also for those guys out there who dot want to go buy the speical tool you can use the head of a 17mm bolt and two nuts set up like a jam nut, makes clearance on the filler easier plus you can use a wrench for clearance if your not able to get to a lift.

SURTO FAK says:

lol u got lucky that fill plug unscrewed.

scirockalot8v says:

Good tip.

dyeinbreed says:

quick tip, NEVER drain the fluid before making sure the fill plug releases. If the fill plug is seized, good luck getting that drained fluid back in the transmission so you can get down to the store, work, wherever the next day if you cant finish.

Good video(s)
