In this episode Jimmy swindles himself into buying a beetle that sat for 20 (or more) years for reasons unknown, maybe I just like to give myself a headache

Imagine that you had a great deal bestowed on you, and you were not even looking for it, and the dream was a premonition. Best of luck to ya.

@latenightnickoli says:

That’s epic man great price but will need allot of love. I had one as a kid and me my dad and brothers used to thrash it through the local Forrest. The thing with Beatles is they get so much aftermarket love so if you have the time it will live again.

@snowdogs59 says:

That’s a score. POR 15 that pan, replace the running boards and get it running. You might be surprised to learn that 20 years isn’t all that long for a Beatle. Mustie and Jason’s channels will tell you all you need to know.

@walter68bug98 says:

Your best bet is to get all new control arm bushings etc from topline as supers have the front end shimmy.there is a place on thesamba who sells “pedal extenders” so the brake and clutch is more spaced out

@gravedigger8 says:

got a great deal on it, the levers by the hand brake are heat controls

@mintyzee3000 says:

Nice find man! I want to do the same in the near future.

@danielgarcia1147 says:

Sweet deal ✌️

@TheTigerQuoll says:

You got a great cheap price and there is plenty of after market support.

The cat seems to like it..! And the nice thing is, compared with other car projects on you're channel, a Beetle has no timingbelt or chain, no headgasket, no exhaust system that suddenly is laying on the pavement when you don't expect it, and its aircooled.
A few decades ago we prepared 2 Beetles for a long trip on the African continent (also exploring the Sahara desert for a few weeks). We discovered soon that we made a good choice, the cars just kept on going without major problems, and we had a unforgettable and great time.

@zimms-world says:

Looks like a cool project. A running engine alone is worth more than. $500 so you got a great deal

@polypetalous says:

From the look of the pan, I’d say you done real good for $500.

@GRMonty says:

Never watched a bettle Project. This will be a first for me

@w1924879 says:

Little switch under the dash is from the rear window heating, there is a little green light on the dash instrument when its on.
I have very big feet, and worked long time for a car rental company, driving very different cars every day, but never had a problem with Beetle pedals.

@youtoobe169 says:

Nice score for $500. Well worth it, I think.

@drevildruid says:

My best friend in high school had a 1971 Super Beetle. I drove it once. The secret is to use the tips of your feet on the clutch and brake pedal but to press the accelerator from the bottom (not the top like you were doing). Several manufacturers make aftermarket pedals that address the problem you mentioned with people with big feet. Expect your calves to hurt A LOT after driving this car.

@Chiefsfan98 says:

Whoooo a new Jimmy video! Glad to hear from you brother.

@thevacdude says:

It's a steal.

@rcope6540 says:

Yes think it’s a steal

@Murtagh653 says:

that woman sounds like a nightmare

Happy New Year! First video of 2025.
