Mitko Dechev says:

Happened to my car yesterday! This helps a lot! Thank you!!!

Billy G says:

Also. Used a dremmel with a disc to cut slots in the bolt heads

Billy G says:

I had the exact same failure, little half moon piece came out in my hand. Was trying to drill out that little cap on the side and it started spinning. The drilled a little sideways into the hole I’d started and the spring came out, so i didn’t bother removing it and the plunger, just put it back together. Great vid and thanks for the help!

Frank Segaline says:

Will this work if my key won't turn . I put my key in but it won't unlock .

Anthony Sends says:

What if i cant turn my key far enough to where the paperclip hole aligns to take out the steering wheel lock

Dark Caesar610 says:

What, if you can’t turn the ignition to get the lock off?

Oscar Mendoza says:

Great video friend! I just fix mine thanks to you Bulli Kid, my car is a Jetta 1.8L 2018 and has the same switch as yours, my problem was the same as yours, it took me several hours but it was worth it, regards from Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico.

Skrue says:

I had the same problem with the key not turning, and did this. The safety screws are a bitch to get out, but with a sharp flathead screwdriver and a hammer, I was eventually able to get them out with some persuation. However, my key was not able turn to the point where I could get the key barrel out, so if you have the same problem, take an angle grinder and cut the whole thing in two ( just make sure you cut below the key barrel) then I was able to turn the key and get the barrel out. (Golf tdi mk6)

Adrian says:

Hello – thank your video – I can fix the ignition switch in my Caddy TDI from 2008. It cost mi ca. 4 Days, also to get the right keys to take away the steering weel. Special to open the mecanism of the cylinder you get me the right information, with the right position of the key. Thank you and good luck for your life .

christophe p. says:

Exactly the same broken part on my ignition this week-end. Buy brand new one this morning 170€ ….

Tom King says:

The only problem I see is the key removal should then release tge locking bolt. This fix allows tge bolt to lock the column before removal of the key. It is designed so if you need to restart a car as it’s driving down the road it will not lock the column. This is a ok fix. But as a shop you could be sued later on if something happens down the road.

Justin Fischer says:

Thank you,. good sir. You're a scholar and a gentleman. Ignition plays nice now.

K- Tone says:

Good video, I remove the whole locking and put it back together. Works like a charm.

Graham Browne says:

Hi, can anyone tell me how to drill the hole in the side of the barrel to counter act the anti tamper mechanism, which type of drill bit and what size?
Thanks for the video!

DAVE SKELTON says:

What about the 2 inch pin?

Awni Marzuk says:

Is there a way to do that without removing the whole ignition module!?
