Ideally, a bronze guide should thread in and then one just reams it to
correct bore dia. How the hell could a threaded Loctite-ed bronze guide
come loose? Then one asks why horseshoes aren’t threaded. There is a thin
line between a machinist and a blacksmith.
Im going to try this trick, thanks for sharing
Just what I was looking for…thanks for sharing!
GRATE WAY thanks for sharing
nice one, very simple and effective.and easier
It is 9:30 on a Saturday, and not one machine shop is open in Orlando,
Florida. This video has saved me some time! Thank you for the post.
Thanks a bunch! Will try this method on my motorcycle engine head.
i hammered my vr6 valve guides out. I used the drill mounting peice of a
buffing wheel. it rendered the guides useless but it got them out just
fine. The real trick is putting them back in. Im going to try a press with
an original valve and a hard plastic spacer to prevent damage to the new
guide. If all else fails ill just lathe a tool to press them in. Diy all
the way ppl, and VRT’s
Nice!
