I don't think that is the proper way to fix the frame from rusting. Fixing it from underneath it is temporary solution and the integrity of the whole vehicle is still compromised . The proper way is to remove the whole cab from above and then replace the rusted section with new metal plate plus adding a piece of metal plate as a reinforcement .
Man….i,m glad I don't live where you live are,,,,my brother has a 2006 Toyota Tacoma, he lives in Florida with 320,000 miles on it and his body and under carriage looks like new still, and no under coating
Retired turbine engine technician, Louie here, I just want to make one point after watching many of your fix up, think it'll run videos. McGiver can't hold a candle to you for common sense problem solving, adapt and improvise to get the job done. It's a pleasure watching you work. I do the same with small engines, chain saws pressure washers etc. I learn a little with each video!
Man my 96 Silverado is bad but no holes like that not in the frame as far as I have found but I'm still looking and now I'm going to shoot everything underneath with your bar oil treatment because you are 100% right it just covers it up and hardens and holds everything in place and that's where all my truck trouble started in the first place in the wheel wells and stuff needless to say what they never did underneath anyway God bless you musty keep on going brother
I think I prefure rthe 4 inch grinder with the thin chop saw disks but Im not a proficiat welder/cutter its the tool Im used to harbor frieght sells disks pretty cheap.
Is it even legal to patch repair a Frame like that. My understanding is that if the frame is rusted to the point theirs holes in it that it’s junk. Is that not true?
Videos are good, but most people don't have a plasma cutter lieing around there garage. I will have to do the same to my son's 2003 Tundra. But I'm taking the bed off to make job easier and do a better job
Good solid work Mustie, stay well from Oz.
how much would you charge for a frame repair like this?
It's nice to rewatch your old videos and pretend the world isn't going to shit for a while.

It's not called being cheap, it's being conservative
You sure could use a needle gun , makes mice meat out of that rust

A pump sprayer and ATF to stop it… Chevys are rotted worse…

Rust converter on rust and then Oil undercoat every year is my advice for your next vehicle! I wish I had started doing it sooner myself.
Toyota inspected the frame and said it is fine. You don't trust Toyota?
