mike crook says:

Stop buying Toyotas until they stop this nonsense. Toyota is intentionally trying to discourage their buyers from changing their own oil to save money.

Korupt J says:

Ever heard of a drip tray?

Pantene Game Reviewer says:

They did it for environmental concerns. You send a whole lot less oil and metal to the trash by just replacing the filter. Not ideal but it’s for Nobel reasons

roderick mclean says:

Correct tools in the correct hands, no problem at all. The spin on is easier but that filter is a much better filter for your engine.

Rand Thompson says:

Baxter makes a metal screw-on adapter that utilizes standard screw-on filters.
Personally i would torch out a hole in the skidplate big enough to remove the filter without ever removing the skidplate again for an oil change.
Work smarter- not harder!
You're welcome.

Scott Nelson says:

Just purchased my first Tundra (2021) will be my last. Can't stand when corporations deliberately screw their customers. Navigation system is a joke as well, have to call a third world country to get directions. And only get one year before you have to start paying for service.

Alekasandar Milosavljevic says:

LOL.. this looks like a Chinese a pool filter. Looks like Toyota just start made in China project >(

MaxairEngineering says:

That paper element is messy but a lot less waste on the landfill. Those rubber o-rings would last at least three oil changes. Finally save some microwave frozen food trays to put stuff in, instead of on the dirt.

questionguy says:

This is why I take it in to let the dealer do it, the last thing I could do myself on a car and now I can't.

Kaizer Sousa says:

A couple of ramps would do you wonders.

Blake Tiernay says:

BMW and Benz have there filters up top because they suck the oil out they don’t drain them.

Fervid1UZ says:

still only takes like 20 min

Leandro Garcia says:

I did a fast research… looks like the car was designed in USA meanwhile the other that you showed were designed in Japan :O
