My ICE Subaru drains quickly too, although not overnight (a few weeks, and not to 0, but enough to need a jump)

J n TX says:

The Kia 12V keep alive shouldn't be anything new. My 2019 Niro EV turns on the charging lights on the dash when it is recharging the 12V battery. I have only seen that once when the car had been sitting for a month during the pandemic restrictions. I think there is a limit of something like 7 recharges if the car isn't being driven.

HOYS says:

Just because the OBD reader uses a low amount of energy, it could be keeping other modules alive, draining the battery. The DCDCs should still kick in though.

Patrick Mannion says:

Parasitic draw on the 12V system.

And NOOOOOOOOO, you only charge a 12V EV battery with a trickle charger!

Dan Daigle says:

love the time you spend educations us, love out of spec Dave

Quality Hardwood says:

That thing is way too expensive.

judgecrater says:

Think I will just keep my Model 3LR/FSD.

Necrotron says:

"I actually like the BZ4X" no offense, Kyle, but that isn't the endorsement you think it is. You're an enthusiast, and you look for the good in every car. (Case in point, your first drive of the Kandi K27 for InsideEVs). That's not a bad thing, but I don't really find this kind of statement reliable as a result. But when you get critical and display your extreme displeasure? Now THAT I find dependable. In those rare occasions that there is even a hint of vitriol in your voice, I know it is definitely a bad car.

DeLorean4 says:

Dead 12v batteries is also a common problem on Focus Electrics. Back when I considered buying one, it was pretty sad and funny how all their service histories consisted of around 2 or 3 tow truck rides to the dealer before being sold.

Scott Gabrielson says:

I’ve had my Solterra since the end of last year. Since I travel away from home often, it sometimes sits for 2 weeks without use. I’ve not had any issues with this issue or the car at all. Love the Solterra!

Mike Carter says:

I have read that this is built FOR Toyota by BYD? Do you know?

Unboxings y Trayectos says:

I own a 4WD XLE since May last year, recently hit 7k miles. Never had that issue happened to me
