Scotty Kilmer says:

Edit: this is a Rav4, not a Camry (like I mention later in the video). Slip of the tongue in the beginning (I was working on a Camry before filming). It’s being fixed now, thanks for watching!

Abdal Durrani says:

Save the manuals

BionicMerlin says:

I really like the CVT in Subarus, but otherwise you got it right. Subaru always gives good acceleration for such a small engine.

Fintan says:

I want subaru to make a little economic car in awd, maybe use impreza as base, and design it to look like the original 360 2door cars they imported to the US. Would basically be an impreza that looks like a beetle/fiat/mini, have it in manual and it would be amazing.

javila27 says:

Manufacturers using CVT to cut cost but MSRP are going up.

Ray7234 says:

And buy any other brand except Toyota and your paint job will last more than 4 years and save 1000s of dollars out of pocket and you won’t be driving around in car that looks like it has a disease.

Doodle bug says:

the Prius electronic CVT is completely different than the mechanical CVT you are showing on screen. it does not have any belts or cones.

Leonardo Yi says:

what exactly means that something cost 2x less?

Derek Abrahamson says:

I have a 2017 Ford Transit, transmission is garbage. It give a downhill not available light…when you drive it for 15 minutes it goes into a random gear, when you turn the car off you may not be able to start it up right away, sometimes you may have to wait 45 minutes…ugh. Never again

SABPROGROUP says:

they were not meant to last lol. keep buying

Robert r. Garcia says:

He is a conductor already – of his voice.

Bill McHimmer says:

This is literally the stupidest thing I have ever heard and this guy clearly doesnt know how new cars work. An electric motor doesnt operate from a transmission, it operates from ELECTRICTY. That why electric cars have direct torque because they dont loose power from the transfer from engine to wheel aka brake horsepower versus wheel horsepower. The engine on hybrids is pretty much a generator the same way a train works. The motor create electricity and feeds it to the electric motors.

JimsGarageToys says:

Scotty, you didn't tell people the whole truth. The hybrid CVT transmissions are nothing like a standard CVT. They are an eCVT and are a planetary gear CVT and are super reliable, even more so than a standard automatic transmission. The other benefit is changing the fluid in an eCVT is much cheaper than a regular CVT and it's much easier to change than an automatic. The fluid change is like a manual transmission, just a simple drain and fill. The convoluted way of changing the fluid in an automatic or standard CVT is terrible.

Woody Hayes says:

It's 2023 and i guess if a rav 4 wants to be a camry…it can be

Mark Frank says:

I might kill myself if I had to watch the entire 10 minutes. I hated this guy in about two minutes.

nhoweru says:

I am here just to see his hands moving around.

KC Jacks says:

I just bought a 2003 Infiniti FX35 with 170000 miles. For $2500. My mechanic offered me $3800 after he looked at it. I love a deal.
