Is this the same for a 1997 lexus es 300 and did you order the new cylinder and key from rock auto ? Also did you need to do any sort of programming or was it just plug and play ?

@jimmyce4530 says:

Sounds like a stupid question but how long did you drill until you got it to pop out. I feel like iv been drilling for a while now

@caspermoton8043 says:

will that work on a 2002 saturn sl2?

@felixperez9512 says:

I have a 2011 corolla I’ve tried everything and the cylinder won’t come out I know there’s 2 holes on the side and bottom but I don’t know which one I should drill

@TzCanada says:

Did your new cylinder come with new set of keys? Are the keys codes as transponders? So did you program them in your vehicle on board? What did you do? I have a 2007 corrola i want to change the cylinder also that comes with new set of keys

@channelletorres1076 says:

Probably a stupid question but i was quoted $700 to put in a new ignition and program the key because i have an immobilizer system. When i buy a new ignition, it has to have a chip too, right? And i would have to have it programmed? Is there a way to do that myself? The cylinder is already out, i just need a new one. I didnt realize this car had an immobilizer, i had a 99 and it didnt have one so i drilled jt lut and started it with a screwdriver but it wouldn't work with my 03, its been sitting for months now, and i HABE to get it running, im a single foster mom and i live 14 miles ro the closest store, and theres no public transportation. I need to do this as cheaply as possible. Any recommendations on where to get a cheap cylinder/key would be a huge blessing as well.

@christopherkovacevic36 says:

If you turn the ignition to accessories you can just push that pin in and remove.

I have a 2000 Camry, cylinder locked up a couple weeks ago, Tow driver got it unstuck, it sticks a little.
Toyota Service dept. told me $190 for the part and Three hours labor to install it. That looks like a 15 minute job if you have the right tools.
Hmmmm, pay them almost $600 or do it myself for less than $100, which is the better deal?…..

I put mine on but the park light stays on why ?battery dies after couple days kinda annoying
