I put these in my 2016 jeep Jku front dash pods. I did have to trim a little bit. But, all in all , I am very happy with them! The mid bass is very very nice!! Tweeters are okay!! I have them powered by the kenwood xr401-4. I still have the jk kicker 6.5 upgrade in the speaker bar. I do want to update at some point. I had the jl c2 350x in the front so i moved them to the speaker-bar with the kickers. I might swap the kickers for the jl c2 650x to match the 350x’s.

Oh this is run on a kenwood ddx394. And i have a pioneer slim sub pushing around 350 watts! The system is loud enough and clean to listen with top off windows down running on highway at 75 mph. I always want better but it does the job. I hear the Orion XPM654MBF XTR Pro 6.5" get really loud with good bass. If I did it all over again I might go with those for the Jeep anyway!!

Question if i move the woofer to the sound bar and bought the orions for the dash pods if they fit ??the magnets are a beast. Would it be a waste ,of the kenwoods 1800p due to turning them down a bit. The sound stage might be off I could put a super tweeter in the dash 3.5 hole or move the JL’s back. What do you think?

Referred to these videos to help… I just installed these in my Tacoma front And rear. Sounds a lot better still not satisfied. A car play deck is next so I’m hoping there will some extra wattage to help the speakers sound better.

Very professional install. Good job

Can you help I changed out the stock speakers on my 2008 tundra and the tweeter on them is not working?

Nick Imbery says:

Dumb question but what’s the best solution when the speaker brackets don’t line up with the 6X9, simply drill a hole for it?

Matt says:

How do you guys cut the hole for the tweeter? Hole saw or circle template?

I have a 2005 Toyota Sienna with the JBL Synthesis. It had the interface module to a JVC Stereo and sounded like crap. I also have recently installed a Sony unit that sounded like crap as well through the JBL system. For the meantime I have a 12" Cerwin Vega in a sealed box, and two Pioneer 3 way 6×9 in sealed boxes in the back of the van. The amps are older MTX 200w (2100x) for the 6x9s and Audiobahn 1200w (A2150HC) for the subwoofer. That all sounds great but it's not really "installed" it's just in there and works. I've not had time to delve into tearing apart the van to install a proper speaker setup in the doors and dashboard. I am wondering is the JBL sounding badly because of the interface to the factory system or is the JBL setup just lousy to begin with. It's so bad in fact that I am just considering disconnecting the factory interface. None of the factory speakers are blown either as I checked them all out already. They are just very low volume and distort very quickly.

Have you ever put these speakers in the rear door of a 2017 Tacoma double cab? Or do you know if they will fit in the rear door?
