On the second shoe that you did the original brake shoe pad came right up to the end of the shoe on the replacement shoe it stopped back about an inch-and-a-half is that normal

Plueeeeze! More DIY uploads! Thank you. More and more people are trying to do repairs themselves, not buy new cars. Thank you for this.

Monte Stu says:

I pump the brakes a few times after the adjustment and then go back and check. It’s usually loose again as the shoes weren’t perfectly aligned under the drum. I usually have to do it a few times. This ensures that both shoes are pressing against the drums evenly so you don’t get excessive wear on one shoe.

Hugh Owens says:

almost every time I have done drum brakes I have considered only replacing the front shoes. If everything is still working why not just do the front springs? That males it a simple and short job. WHy not A?

Greg Anderson says:

Very nice as usual. The great thing about current times is that you can now take tons of pictures with your phone to insure you know the original position of all the parts We old guys remember when you just had to guess or check the other side.

John Haedtler says:

So nice to see a mechanic take his time to do the job correctly! Thank you sir! Thanks for the videos!

Republic says:

Dumb question> Isn't it cheaper for manufacture to just install disc breaks?

Joy Chung says:

fun fact: some yaris rear drum lining brake pad, the parking brake lever is rivet with the lining and the aftermarket not come with the lever included. aftermarket not even sell the pin that hold the lever and lining together. if you encounter those yaris. make sure you check closely if the pin that hold the lever is removable or not.

A well maintained 2005 Toyota or as in our case here in Wisconsin is a good beginner's care in our case this teen ager is now on the therd car, Rolled the first one skidding on very loose gravel and the second someone slammed into the back of the other now the therd car has been getting by. All of these Honda's have over 250,000 miles on them, It's Not the Car's fault, Teenager's are known to destroy Cars.
