Daniel John says:

Thanks for the video. I have a rough idle and replaced the spark plugs.
Should I change the ignition coils as well ?

Do they need to be changed in a certain order ?

Peter Finn says:

Hi. For 1.4 engine you need Bosch FR8KCU plug, and Denso K16R-U11 and NGK
BKR5EYA-11 suits also 1.4 and 1.6 engines.

tf2cheats says:

thank you, is this also true for the 1.4 VVTI engine in my corolla? just
making sure cause engine damage can be expensive 🙂 thank you for the
videos its difficult to find videos about the facelift corolla E11

Peter Finn says:

Hi. Spark plugs are different. And Bosch Super 4 FR78X – KSN 510 is good to
1.6 engine. Also Denso K16R-U11 and NGK BKR5EYA-11 are good.

tf2cheats says:

question , is there any difference between spark plugs? or is it a standard
size for all ? thinking about buying the Bosch Super 4 FR78X – KSN 510

peteworst says:

Hi Peter, Thank you for the information. I use some anti-seize paste on the
new spark plug threads before putting them in the engine, it makes them
much, much easier to take out the next time you change them. Question for
you: Do you need to set the spark plug gap on the new plugs before putting
them in the engine? thank you!

Peter Finn says:

Hi, your anti-seize paste is good idea. And answer to your question: No,
You don’t need to set the spark plug gap on the new plugs before putting
them in the engine.

Peter Finn says:

You are welcome, please let me know, if you have more questions. Thanks.

Peter Finn says:

Hi, the are answers. You can tighten spark plug without torque wrench:
First tighten plug so much, that it takes contact and then tighten 1/2
rotation using tool. And you can start motor directly.

Mir Ali says:

Hello Peter, thanks for the great video. When tightening the new spark plug
do I have to tight in any specific torque or as much tight as I can do? My
car is 04 Corolla S.

Peter Finn says:

Hi, good question. Please tighten spark plug to moment: 30 Nm or 20 lbf ft.
And do not tighten as much you can.

Rick Evans says:

Well done. Thanks! I’ll be doing my 2007 Corolla.

mervoworld says:

ZoeIsLost says:

Hi Peter. Thank you for your videos. I’ve been using them for the last few
weeks. Tried to change my spark plugs. I got exactly the same car as you.
Problem is that the spark plugs seem stuck. What do you recommend to get
them out?

Peter Finn says:

Hi, no. You need to change only Spark Plugs.

Peter Finn says:

Thanks for comment. I do more new videos to You.

Peter Finn says:

Hi, Try cold spray and try also very accurate socket. I will do also new
video, where is hints to your problem.
