How to replace a Toyota Camry’s brake light

Steps I used to replace the right brake light on our car: a 2005 Toyota Camry. For 1997-2001 Camry: http://www.carcarekiosk.com/video/1998_Toyota_Camry_LE_3….

No not the backup light. The backup light is in the segment where the outer
casing looks “white.” What I’m referring to is also in the red casing of
the brake light. It seems like there are 2 bulbs there. Do you have a # I
can call you on to explain or email address?

iScaper1 says:

All the bulbs should be accessible from the trunk area where you pull back
the cover and expose the brake light assembly. You idenitfy the correct
bulb then twist counter clockwise on the base to remove it.

We sold our Camry or I could just walk out turn on the lights and tell you.
This is what I’ve found online: There are four bulbs in the tail light
housing on a 2002-2006 Toyota Camry. They are, from top to bottom; the
marker(running), turn signal, back up(reverse) and stop(brake)/tail light
bulbs. I’m guessing the bulb you’re referring to is the marker.

Habib Ajala says:

Sure; the marker. If it’s the one that’s next to (adjacent) to the brake
light bulb. Sorry I am not an expert with the terminologies for the
different components. But you’re probably right. How do you replace the
marker light then in that case?

iScaper1 says:

Are you referring to the back up light?

Habib Ajala says:

There is a bulb right next to the brake light; what’s that light please?

Thanks for taking the time to leave feedback.

I checked the old light bulb again today and I guess it burned out… So
the problem was the old light bulb (thank goodness, it’s not something
else). I was able to easily change it 🙂 Thank you so much for the video!!

of people who could totally use this

Hi, one of the brake light bulbs on my car is broken. I want to buy a new
one and replace the old one, but I do not know the mode of the suitable
light bulb. My car is Camry too, and could you please tell me the mode of
the brake light bulb for Camry? Thank you!

iScaper1 says:

Thanks for the comment.

iScaper1 says:

Good. That’s the best scenario just having a bad bulb. Thanks for watching.

Thank you. I was helpful.

good information. thank you.

ThePrettyMelody says:

Very useful video. I was able to follow the procedures. Although the brake
lights works sometimes and sometimes does not…why is that? I don’t know
If I should just replace it with a new bulb or perhaps the issue lies
elsewhere?

Max Li says:

Got it. Thank you so much…

iScaper1 says:

If you replaced the brake light bulb and are getting intermittent brake
light, it could be a problem in the wiring to the brake light or possibly a
problem in the brake light switch. Not an easy problem to solve.

iScaper1 says:

Thanks, they’re very similar. I’ll put a link in the video description that
covers 1997-2001 Camry.

iScaper1 says:

Thanks for the feedback.

iScaper1 says:

Good luck with the replacement.

Jind Nirwan says:

Thanks buddy…it helped 🙂

iScaper1 says:

Simply go to an auto parts store and give them the make and model of your
Camry. They can look up the correct bulb for your car.

adarafta says:

sorry I mean to say It was helpful

iScaper1 says:

Awesome. I’m glad the video was helpful.
