How To: DIY Install/Replace TPMS Sensor

In this video, I’m going to show you how to replace Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) sensor on 2011 Toyota RAV4 V6 3.5L.

One symptom that your TPMS sensor is bad, is that TPMS light blinks then stays on. Once you diagnose which sensor is bad, it is very easy to replace the sensor. This easy to follow DIY TPMS install video will help you correct the tire pressure monitor fault and TPMS sensor installation without any expensive tools.

My Avalon 2016 doesn't have TPMS, it is available in full options model, is it easy to retrofit the TPMS into my Avalon? and integrate it with the car system?

Widodo Krisman says:

Great video and I love how creative you are to use the wood to expose the sensor! You definitely got a great power and air tools around your house but with me missing the tool and programming the sensor, I'm afraid I have to spend $75/tire at a tire shop to replace this but I love your video editing, straight to the point! Great job.

Hey, my car has a metal valve stem and TPMS sensor. So the wheel shop replaced TPMS sensor that I bought myself, but when they returned the old sensor back to me, I noticed that the tech didn't install the metal washer. I asked why not, he said it isn't really needed there, as there is a seal inside and valve nut is going to do its job. He also pointed out that if it bothers me, the can unscrew the nut and place the washer without removed the wheel/tire. Do you think it is an issue if that washer isn't installed or no big deal?

motofan16 says:

Really nice video. I didn't have another car so I used the only car. Lowering the corner with the wood on the dismounted wheel. My car, Acura will automatically learn the new sensor. Actually if your car won't require you do anything after tire rotation, its system can probably learn new sensors. Modern sensors have accelerators built-in, so the control unit can know the rotation direction, together with signal strength, it can tell which is which.

i freakin love your videos brother. nice and simple. no talking and talking like the other people. thanks !
