phil bowman says:

THANK YOU!

engrey says:

Thanks dude. This was helpful

Joel Everitt says:

Thank you so much. In the manual it just tells you to take it to the
dealership. That took me less than ten minutes and it was so easy.

Fanny Guevara says:

thank you, for taking the time to make this video. I got pull over for burn
license plate lights. I couldn’t find it in the manual. So thank you very
much. I want to thank you by posting the video on Fb. But it did not allow
me, something about ” flash objects must have the ‘source’ and ‘picture’
attributes:” well thank you again

Mark Elliott says:

Continuing from below, the bulbs do not screw off really. I got them out by
using a rocking motion up and back, like taking out a memory stick from a
pc. Thanks for saving me 50 bucks man.

Mark Elliott says:

Thanks for the video Rainier. I found a couple of things than how u
described. First, taking the phorescent green handle off the inside of
trunk. I saw other videos to pull back the trunk liner and unscrew the 10mm
bolt but the bolt did not unscrew for me after many turns. The handle is in
two parts, an upper and lower half, so if u r careful you can pop the upper
half off with a screwdriver, u will see notch at the top part of handle.
The bottom half will then pop off and u can remove liner.

Mark Elliott says:

Remember, turn the bulb sockets counter clockwise. They will turn about a
quarter turn.

DRUGGIST7 says:

whats the website you got the l.e.d bulbs from i have an 09 camry se model

albinfrn says:

Thank you very much rainierakarain. This video helped me a lot. You are a
money saver man. 🙂 Thanks again…

lyriccal1passion says:

Thank you very helpful

aznapplez says:

so the bulbs are the same for all GEN 6 CAMRYs? i have an 07 camry LE so
these bulbs would work for them?

ShortcakeOSU says:

Thank you!! This video is exactly what I needed

Chris Fullerton says:

Mine isn’t turning… I have an 03 Camry and its the same thing as what you
have

Rainier Apolonio says:

@MarioZrg what type of bulb are both of those? are they 194 bulbs?

JohnL9013 says:

Worked perfectly in a 2005 Corolla. Really had to twist the hell out of
mine to get them to come off. The stupid service manual only instructed on
how to replace the entire housing, had to come here to make sure I wasn’t
going to break it by twisting counterclockwise.

Lourdes Garciaparra says:

thank you thank you! it save some money to do it my self

dcemureviews says:

FYI, there is no need to remove the whole lining. Just remove the ones at
the top so that it gives you enough room to gain access to the bulbs.

Michael Chao says:

did you find out how to change it? i’m thinking about changing mine to led
so i was just asking

JohnL9013 says:

Pull with your fingers.

Rainier Apolonio says:

@lilajcartman Is it a cross screw in a center housing? If that is the case,
you may just need to forcibly pull it out. If you do break the plastic
screw, you can buy them for cheap at any toyota dealer. I believe they are
less than a dollar per. I hope this helps.

Rainier Apolonio says:

I’m glad the video was helpful. I know how much the dealer rips you off
trying to do simple things. Anyways enjoy the mod.

Rainier Apolonio says:

LOL Wikipedia is so inaccurate sometimes. Anyways I take it you were able
to get it out. Happy Modding!

locandro1 says:

Thanks! This was a big help. Thankfully it worked for my Corolla.

lyndaj24 says:

Thank you so much for the information, I found it extremly helpful!

Nancy Dunn says:

im sure you are well past this problem by now but for everyone else, this
part just pops straight off just pull straight back and then pop it back on
when finished replacing the trunk liner

Nancy Dunn says:

i cant thank you enough for making this video and posting it. i would have
had to drive to the next town to have the work done and wasted my whole day
off. the last time i had my wipers changed toyota charged me $25 for labor,
i bet they charge $50 or more to change these license plate bulbs. it took
us less then 15 minutes, the job went just as you said, except for a glow
in the dark trunk release which jut pulled off and popped back on when the
job was finished. thank you so much !!!!

ewing2win says:

Okay, so it looks like I may be able to do this without too much fanfare.
My fingers are crossed.

Maxxstaa says:

flat screw head driver haha

Patmemphis says:

dude you are super smart.. i hope the led’s gets you laid.. good luck big
man

Billy Budapest says:

You’re completely right about not having to take the liner entirely off. If
I take out a few of the little plastic pop-rivet thingies, i can reach my
arm in and twist out the bulb holder. 6th Gen (mine) is 2001-2006. Yours
looks like 7th Gen; 2006 and onward. At least that’s what wikipedia say…

tdnkii says:

My04 corolla has a globe like that, but you cant remove it?

wizefire says:

I have a 2010 corolla and I took out the little black thing that holds the
bulb but how do u take out the bulb from that?

MrMtx112 says:

hey man i got a question i got a camry le 08 i put the leds in my car but
im having trouble 4 my dome light everything lights up except the dome
light i put #194 to license and vannity map light and my courtesy door why
the dome light don;t light up on #194 led?? do u know why

chester mcbadbat says:

Thanks SO much. Got pulled over this morning and read the same warning in
the owners’ manual, go to the dealership. Just fixed it myself for $1.98 in
less than 10 minutes. I have a 2007 Corolla. Thanks again!! 😀

Billy Budapest says:

In theory you are correct, funchi. Unfortunately for me, the reality was
that it took a hell of a lot of force to pop the bulb-holder straight off
(maybe because it was still a factory seal). I couldn’t get enough leverage
to pop the holder off by just reaching my arm in the partially removed
liner 🙁 I had to take the whole liner off so I could get directly at the
holder. But that was the 1st time i’d ever done it. Now that I have a bit
of experience, I could do it with liner on 😀

Danny Lee says:

Just did my 2010 Toyota Camry SE model. It counter clock wise when you
open. Just thought this might help.

osurubydoo says:

Thanks for showing how to do this. It really aggravated me that my manual
said, “Do not try to replace the license plate light bulbs by yourself
[because] you may damage the vehicle.”

Br0wnB3ast says:

i have a 2010 camry, its the same way right? everything looks the same and
i got up to taking out the bulb after unplugging it and it wont come out,
turned it clockwise but it wont turn

Kimberly Haynes says:

i can turn the gray housing? i have a 2007 corolla and it wont turn

Nancy Dunn says:

it just pulls straight off and then pops on when done

CandiceParty says:

Perfect video on my exact topic! Thank you and thanks YouTube!

lilajcartman says:

i have an 03 camry and it needs the cross screwdriver. and im having
problems taking it out. i unscrewed it but it wont come out. the screw is
still in there.

Kmac LA says:

Does anyone know if the 07 Camry is similar to the 2010 Mazda 3 on changing
license plate lights?
