Peasant Laborer says:

Good video Scotty, glad to know this about these model years of 4 Runners, I have often thought of buying a 4 Runner.

Leo Z says:

Tbh toyota shouldve been sued long time ago. 3.5 camry marketed as 302hp dynoed only 193hp. For a 2016 vvt v6 what tf?

Gospel of the Wolf says:

I’ve never learned much about auto mechanics, though I’ve changed my own oil, brakes, etc over the years. The hard part is trusting a person knows what they’re talking about and I trust you Scotty.

I grew up in a Ford truck family. Cars were a mix but Chevys or Dodge always gave us problems. I’m 04 I bought a single cab tacoma 4cyl prerunner and I put it through hell. Even towed a Volvo with a busted oil pan over the Teton Pass (not fun). After 15 years and 240,000 miles with no major engine or transmission problems, I sold it bc I had a kid and needed a back seat. Bought a 19 Tacoma 4cyl and at 102,000 miles it purrs like dat one as I expected. You can’t put a price on a total of 19 years/342,000 miles with only basic maintenance and an alternator or something cheap. My dad, a lifelong Ford man, bought himself a 19 Tacoma v6 4×4 and never looked back.

Ian Thorne says:

El Show del Pápe says:

a got a 2021 4Runner

Chris Roper says:

It will bring a class action lawsuit if they don't fix them for free. They know it's not normal. Those aren't diesel engines. They shouldn't be rattling and noisy.

Mike Brooka says:

I do agree on the 73 GMC. The alt is fine, the battery is weak. I own many Square bodies and, yup. It may not be the F44 package, but if it is for sale, I can find the money.
Mikel
PS, it is missing the drip rails. 74 has the drip rails. Ask me how I know. LOL

Kyle Blackwelder says:

Toyota isn’t getting sued. Lol Jesus this guy. I’m shocked people follow this dude. Jesus.

Kyle Blackwelder says:

Weird, my 2018 does sound like a diesel, I mean it only has 90k on it but it was like that since day one. And I’m not concerned in the least. I only know 6 others with the same motor and we are all fine. Good luck with “it seems kinda loud” fight. This 4.0 is loud has been since inception/beginning.
Edit- a 20 year old ,… isn’t even the same platform. In zero way. Good god Scotty is lost as hell.

Pretty Lies says:

Another video showing that Toyota has been building junk for the last two decades and is just living off its reputation from the last century. First, you can't trust their oil change interval recommendations, and I don't even think you can trust their oil recommendations. They say non-Toyota "0W-20 synthetic oils can be used as long as they are ILSAC certified", but another videos shows even that isn't good enough. Their 2AZ-FEs burned oil, their 2AR-FEs burned oil, and their new engines have plastic garbage intake manifolds. The reason Toyota has a good reputation is because its car owners are more likely to baby them.

Dr Paine says:

Scotty what do you think about the company "Quaise Energy". They are proposing to use gyrotrons to drill for geothermal and retrofit all coal plants" I think this stand a chance and the plan is solid. Then the cost of energy would be much lower and no carbon output. I like this idea and it could get us off our dependence on foreign oil. Thoughts?

Walter Bowen says:

The planet will be fine….save yourself.

Radford Smith says:

Sun glasses and uncomfortable movement…tweaker !

Brian Waskow says:

I bought a 2007 Camry with about 130,000 miles a few years ago. It was burning oil, I looked in the owners manual and it stated it was normal for the engine to consume a quart of oil every 600 miles. I called the dealership and asked them if that was normal I would never have to change my oil every 5,000 miles because I would have added 8 quarts to the engine in that time. They said no that oil consumption is normal. I contacted Toyota many times and they finally agreed to test my oil consumption. Which lead to them almost rebuilding my engine under a consumer good will program (Not a recall). So when I brought my car to the dealership I asked them why they didn't tell me about the "Consumer good will program" ? They told me they weren't allowed to. So when any car company says "Thats just normal" that shoud be a big Red flag.
