Rare earth metals is another aspect of America exporting environmentally polluting industries to foreign countries. Unfortunately it almost always end up in China who is more than happy to stranglehold the US. We have oil and minerals in this country but we Americas are soooo self righteous because we export pollution to other countries.

Reliability and fuel economy should be the auto industries number 1 business concern.
So basically in an attempt to take us away from fossil fuel dependency from not so friendly countries like Saudi Arabia and even friendly countries like Canada (which is where the US gets more of our petroleum from these days) we will now be even more dependent on an adversary nation that can now arm twist us like the Saudis did in the 70s. No I don't see anything wrong with that here…
What are they going to with all the Lithium dead batteries? Lets send them back to China to be buried in their landfills.
