So we went to great lengths to finally resolve the ABS Malfunction of the Right Rear wheel speed sensor just to get rid of the Check Engine Light P0500 code so the Land Rover could pass the VA State Emissions Inspection!
However, the EVAP Monitor REFUSES to run and say “Complete”.
There are no Pending Codes. What is going on?
Also the owner requested that we diagnose and Repair the Air Conditioning.
Hopefully this is the last piece of the puzzle, and we can ship this Fine British Machine back to the owner!!

Seems like an engineering test they ask new hires: Please invent a new evap strategy so that it is different from all others!
For evap monitor to be completed you must drive for few minutes at 55mph to 60mph then coast down to a stop without acceleration or heavy breaking. Hopefully there is an off ramp that does not end with a stop sign or a traffic light
Delaware is also nice enough to give you one incomplete monitor and still pass. The safety inspection is a joke otherwise. Lights, horn, wipers, driver window. That’s all they check. Bald tires and metal to metal brakes? No biggie.
Similar emissions standards in PA Ivan. If my information is correct, 1996 to 2001, you can have up to 2 monitors incomplete. Above 2001, you are only allowed 1 monitor incomplete. I'm pleased to learn that it finally passed. Nice job!

Folks, we refer to them as Range Rovers. Land Rover is the parent company had has cheaper vehicles badged as Land Rovers. The version he worked on is a series L322 which may be the sweet spot of the series. I had a non supercharged 2008 with the HSE package. There are AC vents for the rear passengers. I currently have a 2019 which is the L405 series with the HSE package and some additional options. Wonderful vehicles. For the L322 make sure you buy a version with the Jag motor, not the BMW one. The current series L460 is not body on frame or full time all wheel drive as are the L405 and earlier. I believe the Wikipedia article is incorrect on that matter.

I'm still driving my 2000 Silverado that I bought new. I'm in TX and safety/ emissions inspections are not required after 25 years. If I could buy this truck new, I'd be first in line. I get offers while waiting at a stop light. Enshitification has entered the lexicon and is here to stay unless we take back our country.

One thing I've found on the German coolant level sensors. They can be touchy as to the coolant that is used. Old coolant, too much or too little percentage, they won't read. Also some require a certain type of coolant that has an additive installed, or if you're lucky, you can get the additive from the dealer. Without one of the above even with a known good sensor they'll read coolant level low.
