We had a friend replace our water pump. He is a mechanic but not much knowledge of Hybrids. He drained the coolant but did not as you say bleed the line. So now the triangle and the temp light come on. Car seems to be running fine with no noise or loss of power. What should we do? How do we fix this.

welcome Jeff O

RESULTS: Once I realized that the Storage Tank, Control Flow Valve, Elec pump, Radiator, Overflow tank & all this STUFF is somewhat tied together it started making sense and I “think” we’re good!. It’s still not like the cooling sytem on a 73 Bug! 🙂 (mechanic humor) Thank you 88myvegas!

Got it. Let me take a look….

Jeff O says:

Got it. Don’t do that! Now I know why there’s a fermentation process!! 🙂 Something soooo easy is causing this much headache!!

88bmyvegas says:

no don’t do that. i will email you.

Jeff O says:

Tried that to, do I need to “pressurize” a-little to gently force the coolant into the Reservoir so that it will push the air out of the bleed screw? Thank you for the assist. jodell@triad.rr.com

there is a bleed screw on top of the radiator. what is your email. i will send you a picture

HELP! I replaced my Coolant Control Valve by pinching the line to the Coolant Storage Tank. The other 2 lines drained out 1/2 gal of “pink blood”! New Valve in place & now I CANNOT get the 1/2 gal back in! Reservoir is full. Tried the bleed valve between the radiator & Inverter, I ran engine for 8ish mins with heat on “HI” & there was no heat, tried driving it for a mile or so, tried cussing-it, even drank a beer, NO LUCK! Whats the secret to “The Burp”. Do the openings on PASS side play a part?

Thanks so much! I just did an engine flush on an ’04 Prius with about 90k using Liqui Moly Engine Flush. Turned out a success. My memory is not good enough so I had to right this procedure down!
