Hey Darrell, hope this isn’t too late. I’m pretty sure P0135 is the rear
upstream sensor… or bank 1 sensor 1. Check out these resources:
ww”dot”autoshop101″dot”com/forms/h37″dot pdf”
ww”dot”obd-codes”dot”com/p0130 I had to adjust the links so that you can
seem them… you’ll have to correct the “dotcom” and “dotpdf” to an actual
“dot”. I just got the P1153 and P1155 on my 1999 Toyota Camry LE V6. Going
to replace the front upstream air/fuel sensor and pray that the codes don’t
come back.
Thanks a bunch for the video Joe. My wife and I just bought a 99 Camry V6
and the O2 sensor on the front upstream is bad. This is exactly what I was
looking for to help me get it replaced. Thanks again!
The Headless Mechanic?
Hello Darrell, I don’t remember the exact code since it’s been a while
since I did the replacement. It seems like the code had to do with airflow
and the guy at the parts store said it could be either O2 sensors or the
catalytic converter. He said it would most likely be the front O2 sensors
so I replaced those and the code went away immediately. I’m afraid it’s
hard to get an exact diagnosis from the codes so I just started with
replacing the cheapest things. Good luck with yours.
I’m not sure but I would think that the video would be helpful at least in
a general sense. Good luck with it.
Great to know you can borrow o2 sensor tool kit from Autozone!
I just double-checked and, yes, I paid $35/each for my O2 sensors from
autopartproDOTamazonwebstoreDOTcom. Sounds like either the new Camrys have
more expensive sensors or you got a really expensive brand. Sorry to hear
it.
$35.00?? i just shelled out $212.00 for a bank1 sensor 1 on my 04 camry.
There may be blood
Hi Joe3 which code was it for them sensors I have a code po135 that pop up
I:m trying to find which one is it to change I know there 4 sensor on 1996
Carmy two in back exhaust and two in front that which your working on..
thanks, very detailed. do u know if the sensors are different for 1997
toyota camry 4-cylinders
I assume the sensors are different since the 6-cylinder has two forward
sensors (one on each exhaust manifold) and I assume the 4-cylinder only has
one. Have the parts store look up the number for you. I would think the
installation would be very similar – probably easier – for a 4-cylinder.
I can’t find it
And there is a missing plug right bellow the o2 sensor plug I have no Idea
what it is
Very informative, I have a 2000 Toyota Solara, which has the exact same
engine as yours. I’ve been trying to find the damn connector for the upper
O2 that was exposed, I just couldn’t find the connector. You made me smack
myself in the head and make me angry with myself. Thanks.
Very helpful video, Thanks for taking the time to post it!!
