Hey everyone! Haven't forgot about you. Still have my Suzuki and it is doing great. Been wanting to make videos but have been super super busy the past 2 years with life and new career. Want to start making more videos this summer so please let me know of any ideas! Thanks.

Great Video. I have the same problem and glad I saw this vid. In Australia, dealer is quoting $740 !!!!! for the blower motor and $220 for the resistor. I can source a second hand blower for $220. But I'm going to follow your process before I buy anything. Thanks again.

Thanks for the video…I was able to dissamble and troubleshoot the problem to the resistor using your instructions. Took the resistor assembly to a TV repair guy and he replaced the bad components. Now is working again and only cost me 15 bucks. Great help. Just for reference, here in Brazil: Used resistor price US$70, New from SZK dealership US$133. The dealership tried to push me to buy a new fan motor US$400 saying that the fan is working overload and thats why the resistor went bad. Time will say if thats true. But there is still an option to do a good cleaning and lubrication on the fan.

Shaun Singleton says:

what is the fuse called for the blower motor resistor? I've tried to look for the fuse and I can't find it. Thank you in advance

Hi Thomas! I have a 2006 Grand Vitara, no dealers around here either. My blower is working fine but my air doesn't heat and intermittently my a/c stops blowing cold air and starts blowing engine smelling hot air. I've been told it is likely my "blend door motor", however I have been unable to locate this part anywhere by this name. I've seen blend door actuators – but I am not automotively minded so I don't know if this is the same thing. Any insight?

Hello hope to see more videos from you with your grand vitara

Thanks for this video, Thomas!  I spent $200.00 at local dealership, and the mechanic didn't have a clue (couple years ago).  Another repair shop said needed new blower motor.  So bottom line, I have just suffered through the loud obnoxious fan noise.  (Still get air conditioning and heat.)  NOW, I can focus in on what real problem probably is.)  I appreciate someone like you taking the time to help others.

My dealership was trying to get me to pay almost 500 to replace the resister and the blower motor. Saw this, bought a duralast resister through autozone (with rush shipping was $71). AC works great now! Thank you so much for doing this video
