there's no phillips head screws on a drz they're all japanese industry standard and if you use a phillips you'll just mess them up and most likely round out the heads.
phillips and jis have different angles. phillips is designed to cam out at a specific torque, jis are designed to never cam out.

The screws in cover would probably be JIS [Japanese Industry Standard] screws, not Phillips head, which normally causes the head to round out as the Phillips head driver doesn't seat correctly inside the head. Need to use a JIS screwdriver to remove them. I also use a hammer to lightly tap to help break the screw loose while turning.
