Today, we’re going to repair the fuel pump on our Suzuki GSXR 1000 fuel pump. We’ll remove the fuel tank from the GSXR so we can access the fuel pump, then we’ll remove the fuel pump from the tank to diagnose the problem. John will show you a couple of the common issues with a fuel pump and identify the clogged fuel strainer that is causing the fuel pump problems on our GSXR. We’ll replace the fuel strainer on our GSXR and then reassemble the pump and get it back in the machine.

I can't remember if I commented this yet, but I can't thank you enough for uploading this.
Extremely succinct and easy to follow; very confidence inspiring for a backyard mechanic.

Appreciate your videos. Just signed up on partzilla and bought the same parts for my 05 gsxr 1000. Just turned 40k so probably a good idea to change the filter. Much appreciated! Have a blessed weekend

2007 is old? Wtf

Midnight Mechanic says:

that is an amazingly clean fuel pump for a k7 1000, they are beyond bad for rusting fuel tanks and stuffing fuel pumps, mine went through 2 tank cleans, 2 fuel pumps and 2 injectors (i have no idea why its been all 2) and a fuel pressure regulator, i ended up sealing the tank and adding an external fuel filter and haven't had a problem since 😀

i love the video's you do and i love the fact they are also on a k7 1000 so i can follow them right to the T 🙂 keep up the nice work

upside downdog says:

The manual suggests cleaning that intake filter on my 03 SV1000S. Have you had luck doing that?
