Hi Del.Just changed the oil and filter on my gen2 Busa.
Manual says put 3300ml of oil in which i measured precisely.But when i put
it in and checked the sight glass it wasn`t even showing!
I don`t want to overfill the engine by putting more than the recommended
amount in.
What would you recommend i do mate?

If I never ride 3,000 or 4,000 miles a season do I need to change my oil
every spring or season I ride? and if not then do I actually wait the 3,000
miles?
Hi Del. It’s time to change the oil on my Suzuki so have been watching some
of your older videos to act as a refresher. I have done it several times
before but it’s always good to double check (at least, that’s the excuse I
tell my girlfriend when she hears me watching another of your videos!).
My question is, my engine oil capacity (with filter change) is 2.7 litres.
I can either purchase 3 x 1 Litre bottles or 1 x 4 Litre bottle. Although
the 4 Litre bottle is quite a bit more oil than I need, it’s better value.
Do you think it would be safe to store the left over oil in the container
to go towards next year’s service? Of course, I wouldn’t do this for brake
fluid (hygroscopic and all that) but I was unsure if the same rules apply
for oil.

Thanks for the video. It was hard to tell… Which way do you turn to
loosen the bolt on the oil pan. The bolt on my bike is tight and I’m trying
to avoid damage.

Dell i just got a major problem with electing the oil on my Busa go low,,
opened it right up , almost top end , eased her off and then when I went to
open up a bit it starts knocking around 3 thousand revs,, what do i need to
strip amd check to fix Del,,,,,Regards Jim

hello del, been watching this vid many times just for the sake of your good
sincere explanations alongside the procedures.Would be great if you
could make us a vid on the busa tappet/valve clearance check and adjustment.
Regarding the syncing of throttles, you once said they never go out of
sync, but ive read a few cases of ”out of sync” and rectification with
a kind of balancer(some home made too).what is your opinion on this?.Please
bear for repeating this topic a second time.Thanks in advance..

yeah i agree…..some people are so anal about the wrong things…..fancy
been upset cause your bike leaks a couple of drops from the drain plug
after the mechanic has done his bit…..but the truth is, they do….people
have nothing better to do than look for silly issues to pick
on……………………………….i m with you man,….drain plug on
finger tight and one little tug….and thats all the attention it gets from
me. same story with the oil filter….the torque wrench sleeps and stays
asleep until i do a considerable job, like a head gasket, big ends, etc.
I heard someone talking about 1/4 of a turn for the drain plug without a
sealant. Does it make any sense, Del? Never checked that with a torque
wrench..

You forgot to show us the most hardest part of doing an oil change on a
Busa ……. Removing the dreaded fairing panels !!! Other than that a good

actually essential is for you to give them your money so they become very

Hi mate, it is by no means essential… but it is an excellent aid to
sealing a threaded plug, it remains soft & sticky forever and both cushions
the thread to prevent damage and helps stick it in place to avoid thread
movement with the heat cycling of the engine from alloy to steel…. I have
had my tube for about 15yrs! You only ever need the tiniest swipe, so it’s
a worthy investment, you’ll use it again, Cheers Del

many thanks del,sorry for the big list o questions..i was looking thru the
manual to know about the basic periodic maintenance.just want to know if u
had a vid on throttle valve synchronization?? Reg oil change, the manual
has a temperature to oil grade chart,it indicates a 20w 50 grade which
suits india s climate,the temp doesnt go down below 20 deg c here.so can i
use 20w 50 oil? Should only synth oils be used?
Kind of true, but not entirely, if somebody hasn’t shown you something,
then it doesn’t matter how clever you are you’ll still have to learn it,
plus women riders (a very valuable part of the bike community) are not
commonly want to start grovelling around under their bikes groping the oily
bits, such is the world today! … But it’s always handy to know a little
bit of maintenance to keep yourself out of trouble you are quite right,

I know fine well how to change oil and filters, yet I sit through almost 20
minutes of video watching you do it.. testament to your vids’
entertainment! On a side note I’d love to see a carb setup tutorial,
balancing and mixture and such like wonders, there’s not much out there on
the subject and it’s one of the things I’m not too confident with. Keep ’em
coming!
