????????
You can take the starter out, and use some grease on the gear teeth to make
sure its not just catching on the very tip of the gear. If it is you can
buy shims for mounting your starter which will get it a little closer to
the flywheel preventing grinding.
yeah I would have. turned out my pressure plate bearing was the wrong one
and broke. BUY OEM!! or high end clutch parts. never used.
my 2009 impreza has gone through 2 clutches within 30,000 miles. I’m not
going to fix it anymore. Obviously there is a flaw with the engine, trans
ratio….The dealership in Ann Arbor were so wonderful when I bought the
car..not so great when I needed them..left the car on the hoist and bought
a Toyota
I think the problem resides in between the seat and the steering wheel.

Nice video, My clutch went out on me I have 2003 wrx what type of clutch do
you recommend?
didnt have time for it loll i really should have yeah.
Tron music in background lol
Why didn’t you resurface your flywheel that thing looks pretty bad
@dustyroads13 what tork did you set your wrench to? if at all ha or did ya
just wing it? i am unsure
forks are one of the best tools in the world.
dude im gettin ready to replace the clutch on my 07 wrx, this video helps a
lot, i wish u had a full video of the whole process.
02.
bwhahaha i love the speed whistling @ 4:17
soothing when working on a frustrating car! haha its the daft punk from
tron.
i wanna see the fork in action !!!!
Those burn marks need to be machined off
I just bought a new starter not to long ago and its grinding pretty loud on
my 70 pick up looked at my flywheel and it dosnt look to bad but still
makes the lound noise help please?
My clutch has been slipping pretty bad lately. I really want to replace it,
probably a Exedy oem replacement. How hard is the install? I drive my car
to school everyday and was hoping to do it over the weekend…
what year wrx??
I had an exedy clutch set in mine until I put in a six puck clutch. perfect
if your wrx is closer to the stock side. the exedy clutch set had the
clutch plate, pressure plate, throwout bearing, and alignment tool for 190$
but you can buy just the exedy plate for 90$ im sure you could find cheaper
stuff on the nasioc forums though.
To anyone else watching this, if your flywheel looks like that one, fix it
before installing the new clutch. If it’s smooth and has hot spots like
that, clean it up with 600 grit sandpaper and brake parts cleaner. If it
has grooves, have it machined. The one I just did cost 35 bucks to have
machined. used wrx’s are a hard thing to buy right because people beat the
everloving crap out of them. If their owners treat them like a real car and
not an abused toy, it will reward them for many years.
the wrong gap between the flywheel and starter can cause grinding but idk
without looking and hearing it.. so make sure its the correct starter and
then get someone to look at it.
imprezas look awesome and sound like a good idea but they are a ton of
work. not so much fun then.
@byronkay thanks! share the video if you want
It looked easier on wheeler dealers
Thanks for making and posting this video. I’m about to do my first clutch,
and it’s really helpful to see it before hand.
Dude you make this shit look easy… I’m dreading doing this work.. wish
you were my friend and would help lol. Great video bro
the high speed whistling at around 4:25 is interesting 😀
nothing like changing a clutch with Daft Punk flowing in the
background…good stuff!
thumbs up for changing the crank seal… I’ve lost count of how many times
I’ve told people to change that seal, only have them talk about replacing
it 20K later
harbor freight ftw! lol
@kohlby777 always!
why would I use a torque wrench if I wasnt gonna use the correct torque on
the bolts! lol the specs I found in my manual but honestly if you just
tighten the bolts to where they feel “snug” it could work but I didnt want
to take chances on it.
