nope. stock screws will work fine.
Thanks for the vid! Did you have to buy new screws to attach the fans to
the aluminum radiator?
@simonnitro its another line that goes back into the reservoir when theres
too much pressure coming from the radiator. you have to make something up
here, as we did. the mishimoto didnt come with any tubing for this
damm.. wt happen? coolant everywhere..
@wongk20a yep. they are all the same GD chasis, so everything will be
similar if not the same
@nukem384 Hey nukem, can you recommend to me a good radiator. The one I
have pretty much exploded on me. So if you let me know as soon as you can
much appreciated..
Great video install went smoothly
Hey nukem384, I’m no mechanic by any means and recently had to get my
radiator replaced on my 03 wrx. I noticed that the radiator grill on the
front is still my old one from before the repair, does this typically not
get replaced with a new radiator or is it all one unit? Just want to keep
the mechanic honest. Thanks
i was told by a guy at a tuning place that the oem Subaru rads are beter
than aftermarket duel core ones?????? could you elaborate on this that
would be cool!!
The thing in front is your ac condenser. It IS separate from your radiator.
Open the hood and look towards the front from the side and see if the
radiator looks new if it does, im sure they changed it
First thing when uninstalling the radiator, drain the fluid with the bottom
hose. Other than that I think you did a good job! 😉
@mexwr yeah itll be the exact same thing
I agree the gomez420 my took a dump and split on me where the plastic is
have to replace mine today so this video is definitely helpful
@nukem384 Would it be all right to stick with the stock fans and hoses if I
where to get the mishimoto radiator..?
Hi ! Thanks for this video helps a lot. I have just killed my OEM bug eye
rad and i am thinking on buying the Mishimoto the same as you installed on
here. As our OEM rads had no filling cap could you tell me what gets
connected to the small alu tube sticking out from just below the filling
cap on the top of the Mishimoto ??? Anything to modify here or do you not
connect anything ? Thanks .
Good video.. thanks.
Where was this 3 months ago! haha, very good instructional videos as always
dude.
Hey nukem great wrx maintenance vidoes, I have an older 04 wrx and I
noticed most of the tutorials are for an 06 wrx, is most of the install
process the same for older gen wrx’s?
Richard, There is another radiator for A/C in front of engine coolant
radiator that’s why it looks old, your mechanic didn’t cheat you.
Do u know it will be similar on a 2005 wrx? great vid too man..
It’s so shiny… 😀
not sure what you mean by grill, but if your radiator is leaking, usually
they swap the whole piece out for a new one like in the video. sounds like
they didnt even change your radiator? maybe they just put that seal stuff
in your old radiator to stop the leak? that is usually only a temporary fix.
@roman21000 yep no problem. i believe it was around $250, but just do a
quick search and youll be able to find pricing on it as it wasnt my car we
installed this radiator on.
im no expert, but the subie rads are shit iv read. the plastic is always
breaking so its good to get an aluminum one. im probly going to find mine
cracked somwhere tomorrow morning when i wake up 🙁
@gusmatrix haha yeah its a bit of a messy install
would this be the same procedure for a 1995 Impreza
you are seeing the AC condenser from the front of the car, it looks just
like a radiator, but it makes the refrigernt cold. it is right in front of
the radiator, so you cant see the radiator from the front.
It’s hard to beat that aluminum radiator from Mishimoto. Great price and
great quality considering a new stock radiator has plastic and will leak
again.
@nukem384, Thank you Oh by the way by any chance you know how much the
mishimoto radiator cost..
ok thanks man
Nice video. You guys should have cleaned up the engine bay while it was out
🙂
@roman21000 mishimoto is the brand in the video. good aftermarket brand.
genuine subaru parts are always good too if you dont mod your car
What you see in the front is the A/C radiator.
Thanks for all the informative vids on repairing subarus. I appreciate it.
Damn talk about a coolant leak… Looks like the radiator shat all over the
engine itself
