How tight is too tight on those belts? I think I’ve gone nearly guitar string tight on a brand new belt and it’s still squealing on me.
Do you know what the bolt is called and or the size?
loosen the bolt on the alternator, that's where it hinges on and it needs to be loose to move or else you'll break that piece that the tension bolt threads into eventually.
