In today’s episode I show you a quick hack on how to remove a stuck axle with no special tools and without removing any control arms. This requires you to replace the wheel bearing as well, but it is totally worth it to just replace both.

Do you know if this works on the front axles as well? I just used your method for both rears! Awesome tip! 2015 Subaru Outback for reference.
Works with probably any subaru. (Crosstrek here)
Already did my bearrings about 20,000 miles back so I'm not doing them both. BUT because I did so they're not seized to the hub and this is about to save me a ton of time on my axle/suspension replacement and lift. Thanks for the video. Didn't even think of that!
its funny, i spent weeks on YT University trying to find the best way toreplace my axle and assembly. Today is the day I start taking everything off, I go to refresh my brain how i need to remove stuff and your video is the first I see that just totally blew away all the other instructionals. Nice man, appreciate the no bullshit approach
I hope this works with 05 Forester, it has a drum brake as well. You may it look easy! thank you!
Mine wasn't stuck, but I also didn't want to lower the rear diff to replace the axle, and this worked great on my '06 Outback. Thanks! P.S. the Haynes Manual literally explicitly says the only way to remove the rear axle is to lower the rear differential. Haha
Ummm, that might work where you live, but where I live, the hub-bearing doesn't come out without a fight. And at the end of that fight, bearing is useless.
Do you have to replace the wheel bearing? Or can I just use my old one?
Nice! I've been struggling with my rear suspension, this will help.
Worst filming ever
Would this work the same on a 2011 Wrx rear axle, my boot ripped on the driver side axle
Many thanx for the insight; already did the front but hadn't quite decided how much of the rear I was going to have to take apart..
That's cool. I'm replacing a rear hub and axle. Bearings shot and axle wore for abs sensor.
