hi Brain. there is some play in the cv axle on the motor. sorry if I getting the wording wrong. do you have a video on how to fix that on a subura. plus any videos on aliment bolts replacement on the back of the car.

Brian Wick says:

Thanks Brian. About to do this to my sons' 2002 Forester and 2002 Outback. Looks like to get to the passenger side pins, I need to remove the cat converters, especially on the Forester. Is that something you normally do and didn't mention in this video? Thanks!

Don Kopf says:

Aloha,
Thanks for all the great videos.

Question for you: I've a 2000 forester. Is it necessary to remove the axle to replace the outer boots by taking out the spring pin and dropping the inside assemble and removing the rolling bearings and sliding the boot over the whole assembly? Need to replace both inner and outer boots and trying to make the job easier.

Thanks

Isaiah N says:

where did you get this axle and how has it been holding up??

spasmonaut10 says:

Great video as always. Did my timing belt on my Forester with help from your videos and have a driver's side boot that's shot so I'll be changing out the axle later this year.

thanks for your kind assistance with this video, I have a Subaru legacy 2003 and I have to replace CV Half Shaft Axle, let me ask you where to get that part, the brand or store.

tony montana says:

cool video question how much do they charge out there an hour to work on Subaru's?

Joe Briggs says:

Brain what is a good aftermarket brand cv axle to use in a subaru forester. the oem one is $400.

Truman King says:

really awesome video; showed all the steps that I would have questions on.

do you know if the CV from the 08-10 Impreza models have that pin on the inner side of the CV? I can't find any info on those 🙁

Jacana Productions says:

What brand of axles do your recommend – I read somewhere that the very cheap axles have problems with vibrations. My local parts store has two axels for $80 i think. Subaru obviously want more ….. $80 for the one boot on one side ….!

John Zingale says:

Brain has the CV joint changed on the 2012 Forester? The Axle that the part store gave me doesn't have a hole for the roll pin I haven't been able to get under the car yet. John Z Thanks

Robin Suarez says:
