We lost the 12mm bolt taking off the red clamp so thanks for the vid. took out battery…took off alternator….may have been a loose battery cable, but car seemed like it was the alternator going bad, but had it tested. seemed fine, but its sunday so took a test drive….not far just in case, but i may have some electrical issues somewhere with my Subaru. yay.

Thanks for the video! Used these steps to replace the alternator on my 07 Impreza without a problem.

Very education, I really liked what you did with the color coding, thank you!

Sid Blubaugh says:

That doesn't seem too difficult. May be doing this over the weekend. Yay…

Thank you, super helpful! I just put a new alt in my 93 Subi Impreza following this advice step by steps Took less than an hour! The only step you left out was reconnecting the plug and wire to the new alt. But I knew to just reverse all the steps 🙂

Thank you. Very helpful, helped me with Subaru outback legacy 1999.

I am sorry, but you have missed the step when reconnecting the green and red end cables!

This is a much better video than Uncle Skeeter's 5 minute video on a broken engine. Now it's clear which damn bolt you're supposed to mark (watched this after my re-install) so I hope I get it right by feel.
