How to Make X Power in Your Subaru WRX/STI on a Budget

How to Make X Power in Your Subaru WRX/STI on a Budget

About a year ago we made a video called “How to make X Horsepower in your WRX or STI”. But That video was using some higher top-shelf parts and a more reliably built car. I’ve Been asked to make a budget-friendly version that works a little more for everyone. Now I still advise you to use your reliability modifications such as the Killer B oil pans, IAG AOS, and more. But this list should help you get to where you want to go while still Ballin on a Budget.

It’s so cool to see where you have came since I first started watching your channel and honestly the reason I personally got into Subarus and bought my brz. I love seeing videos like this as I’m looking at buying my friends wrx that had the engine stolen and this video really helps if I decide to make a bit more power. Thank you for all the great content.

Are you a pro GetADom or is it snake oil to you?

Check out Arashi turbos. Have used on a few client cars and have had no complaints!!! Their packaging is pretty sweet too!

Jamie Marky says:

I was told by a well known tuner that I could make around 300hp safely without having issues, with a dyno tune, intake, boost controller and intercooler. So is it true or was he just saying it to make a profit off me. I have a 2021 wrx I believe it’s the FA engine.

Want to install my motor for a 30 pack of PBR?

Coyote2701 says:

Is it possible to remove CEL with open source tuning? Specifically with the one you mentioned in the video I want to run flex fuel in the future

as a high school student with a 14 wrx this was very needed thank you

You should definitely make a build video for the new FA24 motor though I guess it's still a bit too new for a build video yet

Eilers517 says:

Can confirm 294 wheel on td04 on a 2004 wrx with Sti top mount and Sti fuel injectors a walbro 255

Tykoderz says:

Tbh ebay turbos are relatively reliable if you have the ability to mount/plumb everything yourself. Plus for 1000 dollars you can buy 8 or 9 of them

You can get an ACTUAL Mac valve 3 port boost controller for $80 on ebay and it is the same thing. Also, the open source tuning tactrix cable isn't cheaper because you still pay for the pro tune price. Tune will cost about the same as the cobb one but the advantage is that open source tuning isn't limited by emissions restrictions. Cobbs recent greenspeed update requires stock tgvs. To make 400whp its nice to have the big fuel lines/rails/regulator but definitely not required for 400 or less in my experience. I wouldn't go over 400whp on a stock block if you want reliability long term. Also if you plan to run high ethonal fuel or flex plan to budget in oil changes much more often due to ethonal not being very clean. Hope this helps. Other then those, very informative video

Yo smeedia anything for equal length headers for an 06 xt?

Shintow says:

Don't you have to go EWG on the sti to get to 400?
