Been fighting this issue for some time, but finally fixed it. Strangest thing — the engine seems to misfire only when it’s wet and humid outside. Once it is warm, the problems go away. Here I replace the coilpack in my 2006 Subaru Forester (EJ25) in hopes of fixing the issue.
As a side note, after installing that Duralast coilpack, the engine takes longer to start/crank over on start-up, so I suspect it’s of lower quality than Subaru’s coilpack, so I recommend you just go for OEM since it is not that much more expensive.

As to the car, I guess next step is a pressure difference test between before and after the cat'. I concur it may be a restricted exhaust problem (I hope for you it's not a crumbled cat' that's the cause of the restriction, 'cos those suckers tend not to be cheap).
