$6,500 for some simple brake maintenance? The people at that shop must have
been high as a kite haha the only time you would need to replace an entire
caliper is if it has some major failure which almost never happens, I’m
glad you didnt get suckered into that load of crap!

Eliseo Jerry Ramirez says:

Man never compress the caliper pistons individually especially with a flat
blade screwdriver. I can understand you are probably limited to the tools
you have on hand. A brake caliper service tool kit is very cheap and can
save you a lot money from doing the job the wrong way. SO if you are not
able to buy the right tools maybe next time leave the old pad on and
compress the pistons at the same time on the same side uniformly. Caliper
cost $300 tool only cost $50 do the math. Buy the right tools!

You didn’t show dick for removing the caliper and rotor. I did pads only at
42,000 miles . now I have 92,000 so I’m doing cross drilled & slotted
rotors and pads, powerstop. U were no help

Actually I did show how to remove the caliper. All it is is the two bolts
The rotor is held on by the caliper. 5 mins into the video i tell you how
to remove the bolts. Size 19 mm. Also for reference the bolt typically
galvanize the the caliper so you may need to get them re threaded. I found
using some penetrating fluid helps a lot.
