That was a nice practical solution to the problem. I am also dealing with
the same issue. I looked on the internet and found that there are several
possible reasons for this problem. 1. need to clean area around hole and
spray some WD40 if it sticks inside hole. Also, if battery is weak or has
bad connection, that can be the problem.
That might be my problem b/c I keep one battery terminal connection just
hand tight so I can easily disconnect battery to keep it from going dead
when I don’t use car for several weeks because I own 5 cars and often let
other cars sit for long times without using them. So tomorrow morning I
will clean and tighten battery terminal and see if that works. Also, it
seems that there is a brake light button located on the
break pedal shaft that may be the problem. So I will test to see if my
brake lights are working. Then if all that does not work, I will just let
my mechanic fix it.
