You ever hear of issues where the key gets stuck in the ignition it's been happening alot often with my 2014 cross treck

@paulcarlomagno1673 says:

Had the issue with my 2014 Crosstrek thank God it was only the O-ring on top

@bradhaughton6698 says:

Does this also include the 2010 Subaru Forester cuz I had no AC?

@zanacku says:

I just redid my ac in my 04 forester then this video pops up. its fate lol. the hose can also become damaged from engine removal and other engine repairs.

@homermago100 says:

Haha damn like if you knew my wife hit a big rock on the highway and made her condenser start leaking. 18 cross trek Swapped it out Less then 20 minutes but now my forester compressor starting to make a squeal! This dessert heat is gonna be rough

@stevef3521 says:

Excellent video. Can you make a video on a coolant drain and refill on the BRZ?

I did it yesterday without the no spill coolant funnel. Was a pain to get the system bled.

Surprisingly, there aren’t many good videos to reference for the procedure. I’d like to try the no spill coolant funnel next time to bleed the system much quicker.

@GamerNxUSN says:

I suspect my o rings on my 16 fxt as the past 2 years I have had to fill my system at the beginning of the season and it will hold through the season.

@stephenschmidt1524 says:

If I can get a shop to discharge the system for me, I was going to do a compressor/condenser job later this spring on my '14 Forester. I was debating between flushing the lines or replacing all of them. At minimum I think this one is getting replaced thanks you that explanation of the potential weak point.

Also, did you record the replacement of that rear trim piece below that rear window? I may need to do that on my car to fix the lift gate handle and was curious how brittle it was.

@jayflores4692 says:

Same AC issue happened on my 2015 wrx lol

@joeweaver9913 says:

Unfortunately I don't have the tools for A/C repairs. I DIY everything else in our family fleet of 5 (3 Subarus, minivan, pickup). Can the appropriate tools for A/C repairs be purchased by DIYers and just watch a few videos?

@HerbalistGG says:

yeah actually i had o ring issues on my 2008 hatch 1.5r and loosing refrigerant overtime , the electrician changed those rings and said it is looking very clean ac system on this car , o ring can fail due to age normally and simple fix solved my issues with ac is not getting cold

@rolotomase1440 says:

Not DIY friendly. Dang.

@Krugzug says:

Did you add oil to replace what leaked out? If you added oil how do you know how much to add?

@noah786 says:

If your ac has a leak and isn’t working isn’t working doesn’t that mean the refrigerant leaked out and is empty?

@derrickray1123 says:

I remember doing the high side O ring on my 2000 Legacy GT back in like 2006. I did the dye test, found the leak and replaced that ring and it worked decently well. If I had the money or machine to do a full vaccum results would have been better

@garrickburdette3677 says:

If the O-rings have failed, will residue be present around the connection point on the compressor? My wife's 2015 Outback is blowing hot air this spring. I checked the compressor for functionality, and as I was confirming this, I noticed an oily residue around the connection point of the high pressure line.

@kevinm5177 says:

Haha this is literally the only thing that didn’t fail on the A/C on our 2017 Forrester. Subaru replaced two condensers, one evaporator, the compressor, and one lost charge from not tightening the bolt at the compressor on the hose you were showing. Mostly covered by Subaru, even out of warranty.

@emiliog.4432 says:

PS: Subaru Parts deals is not such a great deal as their name implies. Shipping costs are outrageous. You got free parts. They get free advertising but Consumers get the shaft.

@emiliog.4432 says:

I just replaced my condenser and hoses. Great cold air now. Had the dealership discharge then recharge the 134a Freon. The condensers start to age after 6 years.

@TheGhungFu says:

Since, in most modern cars, Subies included, the defroster uses the A/C system to dehumidify the air, it's important to have it working in the winter as well.

@RoyalEmpressTree says:

I wish i thought about it when I bought my Subaru, this guy deserves the referral commission

@maubunky1 says:

Do you sometimes have to adjust the shims on the A/C compressor clutch on older 2006 Subaru Forester XT Turbos if the A/C stops cooling during idling at stoplights but starts cooling again when driving down the road? My current car hasn't started this yet, but my previous car had this exact issue.
