Sorry to the EV followers on my channel, I’ve got a frustrating problem on one of my project cars and I need help! My 2014 VA STi came with a tune for an Injen cold air intake, and Invidia downpipe (catted) and an Invidia Q300 catback. Looks awesome, but not that happy with the sound.
It’s SUPER loud – it might not seem so in the video, but it’s LOUD. And the tone isn’t great – almost no rumble. I’ve owned a 2004 WRX and 2003 WRX, both with EJ20s and various catbacks, and they both sounded super awesome. This STi just sounds… loud and annoying and I’m a bit fed up with it. I’ve watched many videos on VA STi with Q300s and they all sounds great, so I’m annoyed my car sounds like this.
Need to decide what to do. I put an OEM catback on to get a roadworthy done, and it’s fine, but no rumble and almost silent. I’d consider another catback, but only if it’s QUIET and sounds good. Gimme recommendations!

I would recommend catback from Cobb or HKS, not as noisy and have really nice sound and no drone at all
I have exactly the same setup, Its the best setup for what you want. Yours does sound a bit tinny though. The next step up is the r400 but that is droney. q300 with catted dump and tune sounds perfect on mine, plenty of rumble when on the gas
