It would be really helpful to have the sizes of the socket for the drain
plug and the oil filter. Also, give the spec on exactly how much oil to
put in.

JT Quick says:

We have a 2013 Forester. Some much easier. Filter on top, Drain plug
easily accessible.on bottom. 5 Minute change. Couple of items. 17mm drain
plug. Filter should be Subaru brand. Will void warranty if not. By pass
valve 23-25 psi. Filter you installed has 13psi. Boxer engine have higher
psi. Value opens when car starts and bypasses filter. 7500 or less miles
recommended between oil changes. Filter should only be hand tightened. If
over tightened, will crush gasket and leak.. 5FTlbs max.. Pug should have
new crush washer and torqued to 25 ftl bs. Other than that I liked your
four legged helpers.

You could shorten this video by ten fold and still provide more info, we
don’t watch these things for fun = just trying to extract into in whatever.

SOJA CRAFT says:

Nice video

Paul Morales says:

Yea I wouldn’t go over 7,000 miles MAX on an oil change using fully
synthetic oil. 10-12k is way to much

Waldemar Galka says:

Very helpful. Thank you.

Eric Mattinen says:

You forgot to drop the oil plug into the basin of hot oil…that’s usually
what happens!

Greg Hicks says:

couple of things to add if you don’t mind. Make sure the car is off the
jack stands to get a proper reading on the dip stick and also after you put
in the oil before you check it run the car for about 30 seconds to prime
the oil filter. You’ll notice the oil level will go down on the dip stick
after you run it. Great video though, thanks for the help!

EntropyVortex says:

I like to oil the gasket on the new filter too. I was told that it keeps
the oil filter from welding to tee engine. And I can tell you from first
hand experience that if you don’t rim it with oil it will definitely weld.

Good video. Lots of help. Thank you.
