PETER MAINWALD says:

clutch cable is much better, less likely to ever fail

MercedesDieselGuy says:

I had no problem with the cable clutch when I was driving a manual Legacy (have an automatic now). But, to each his own.

Paul doe says:

thank you ur awesome…. damn subaru wish it just had a master / slave

MercedesDieselGuy says:

Hello – technically, the term crankcase refers specifically to the engine. But yes, the manual transmission and front differential are all in a single case with a single supply of gear oil.

angev2 says:

does the manual transmission on these subarus share their crankcase with the front differential ?

MercedesDieselGuy says:

You’re welcome. I hope it helps.

jaramima says:

Thanks for the vid

TwinzFury says:

Would this work for my 1995 Subaru WRX?? It has the EJ20G engine in it. Thats the same is this legacy is it not?

MercedesDieselGuy says:

I hadn’t considered that., but I suppose there’s logic to it. Either way, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that you won’t need that clutch.

99Legacy2.0T says:

ya I have to figure out what clutches are compatible with the transmission as its a legacy transmission, the only thing I found is that if its overfilled to the point that gear oil is getting on the clutch that could have messed up my clutch but ill have to look at it a bit more it only slips when I enter high boost 9+ PSI I want to get under the car and see if it is leaking but probably have to splurge on a new clutch damn.

MercedesDieselGuy says:

I can’t see how an overfilled transmission would be related to a slipping clutch. I wish you the best, but I think, if your description is correct, you’ll probably need a new clutch. If all gears are working, I doubt you hurt the transmission (yet) by overfilling it.

99Legacy2.0T says:

Good video I will be doing this in the next few days my legacy has a wrx engine and a stage 3 clutch that is slipping. I had overfilled the thing and I hope after taking extra fluid out the slipping stops if not it will be a much more expensive fix lol.

MercedesDieselGuy says:

Different procedure. Check my videos. I think I did a video on that.

AAPOQ says:

how different is the automatic tranny? Thanks either way

DjBabySlayer says:

thank you, i realized its on the other video!

MercedesDieselGuy says:

Actually, no. In this case, I specifically mean changing the gear oil inside the manual transmission itself, as opposed to the engine oil.

DjBabySlayer says:

when you say manual transmission, is this the samething as a regular “oil change”?
