Great video and nice Saturn mate

dogeymon83 says:

Aloha man! Great to have someone make these videos. My wife got me my first soldering iron kit ever. I've never soldered my whole life and I'm 34 haha. I'm scared of breaking something. Any advice on how to practice? Looks fairly simple. I understand the concept of signal flow and making a strong connection with things. I really want to finally play panzer dragoon saga again.

SpaciousMan says:

Great video, you make it look easy! What's the music from? really catchy tune.

action replay cart?

nevermind824 says:

You shouldn't wire directly to the PSU 5V supply. The chip will work, but not always on every boot. What happens is the PSU 5V is not filtered through the board and can make the chip less reliable. Better to solder the 5V supply to a source on the CD drive itself. Just use a multimeter and there are loads of places easy to solder to like the legs of capacitors. Much more reliable, especially if you want to sell a Saturn on.

Nate Lawrence says:

Aloha, brother.

sega style has come and gone. The owner was very nice, I ordered from him for years, I'm honestly not sure what happened, but he first disabled his shop for a while, then more and more links on the site became broken, now the domain is up for sale. These can still be purchased from a guy named Rob Webb though for anyone looking for one here: consolegoods.co.uk . Its the only site I know of where you can get one these days. I think Sega Style was reselling console good chips, no matter though, he was a really nice guy, very helpful and knowledgeable, its too bad his site is gone.

TheMediatore88 says:

I followed the instructions but Saturn does not read the backup CDs only the originals ๐Ÿ™
