Me again. Thanks for getting back to me. I watched this to see where the
crank sensor is. Question. Can I test this by hooking up a volt meter to
the fuel pump trunk connector. Then crank the car over? Just asking because
I did. And this time I maintained voltage to the pump.

nld1960 says:

I have a 2004 Saturn L300.3 Station Wagon with a V6 engine which runs like
a dream. This car is as if it was just driven off the show room floor. It
is the De-Luxe model with soft leather seats and door panels. CD and still
a casette player. The engine is very powerful, but the engine shut off last
night, then started again then shut off again and the engine light came
on.An analyzer at Autozone showed 0727 and 0700 codes. So I can do this job
myself then and how to clear the engine light?

richpin06a says:

The crankshaft position sensor on the vehicle is located on the transaxle
housing, facing the gear teeth of the drive plate.

Abhi4771 says:

I just changed the timing chain on my suzuki grand vitara (1999) and the
chains are aligned and everything but I still hear some rattle on it. It
shows Code P0355 and the Service Engine light keeps coming on. Could it be
the problem with the crank shaft sensor?

Wes Stevens says:

Looks easier than I thought it would be

quzballa06 says:

I went to autozone to do a code reader. Nothing and I dont have engine

saturn sw2 with 74500miles. Can u tell me what I can do?

richpin06a says:

I do not work on any Benz to know what there problem areas are.

richpin06a says:

@deboy5319 I have never run into a broken one that being said i would start
by taking the starter out of the way. Then it would be trial and error on
the tools i would use.

Andy Wu says:

what kind of vehicle are you demo on ?????????

daniel brown says:

@richpin06a i have followed the step by step and know when i tryden to
remove it i broke the sensor head and now its stuck and block and know i

Chyna Smith says:

richpin06a says:

It is a Saturn S-series.

hydrobud says:

rekozma says:

richpin06a says:

On the 94 Altima it is Under hood, driver side, upper engine area, driver
side of engine, mounted in distributor .

richpin06a says:

I can not comment because i have not done this repair on the 99 Galant.

richpin06a says:

Cody Bloothoofd says:

car doesnt go over 3000rpms doesnt that mean its my crank sensor and its
hard to start. sometimes my car wont even start

richpin06a says:

Is the engine spinning over when you turn the ignition key to the start
position.

jr tristan says:

Hi rich.. I have a 2003 cadillac cts that is saying it missing 1 3 5 I
changed the spark plug and coil pack on that side “which is one whole unit”
and it still missing when i come to an idle..could it be the crankshaft
postion sensor..also i did notice that on the other side of the coil pack
which is 2 4 6 one of the spark plug cover has a hair line crack about 1
inch..could that make it miss fire on 1 3 5?

Scott McLachlan says:

If anything they have a little “whitish” color to them, nothing dark or
black.

James kegley says:

You say when reinstalling the new sensor you could pull the o ring off
wouldn’t that cause an oil leak

littletoy01 says:

is the Crankshaft Position Sensor on a 1998 Sunfire in the same place
ruffly. or can you tell me where its at.. Thanks great video.

richpin06a says:

Using a scan tool would be the best way to turn off the check engine light.

richpin06a says:

What is the condition of your coolant temp sensor and its connector.

Filmaker25 says:

That’s a typical location for the Knock sensor I imagine?

Reverse Gear says:

If I just to the key on. It goes off at 3 seconds. If I crank it stays on
as I crank it. But with the trunk fuel pump connector plugged in I only get
10 volts. But unplugged I get the full 12 volts. But I also never hear the
pump. Or I should say not anymore. It ran from 10 minutes to 2 minutes and
now not at all. I think the pump just took a bad time to go out. I
rechecked the repair job at the PCM. It looks right. A Matco scan tool
found no codes.

richpin06a says:

You can remove the fuel pump relay from the interior fuse panel and jump it
from there to see if you hear the pump working.

saborboricuapr1 says:

what vehicle are you working on??? I have a 2008 Nissan Quest that won’t
start. Wondering if is the crank sensor. It takes a long time to start.
Thank you./

curtisalandavis says:

@richpin06a Checked ignition module put a new one on didn’t work. Luckily
the part store let me return it because they couldn’t test my old one for
me. It would have been $115.

Omar Chisolm says:

@richpin06a, and thanks 4 all ur help man.

richpin06a says:

@curtisalandavis Wow that could have blown the computer. In a normal car if
there was no spark after changing a cps i would look at the ignition module
as a possible cause.

richpin06a says:

It is a Saturn S-series.

richpin06a says:

It is located in the same general area below the coil pack on 2.2L engine.
