In today’s video we go through the process of replacing the LCD screen on the Elegoo Saturn Resin printer. This ended up being a much more complicated process than anticipated due to unclear instructions. Once I figured out how to get this working I had to make a video on the process to help out others by hopefully saving them time and some frustration.

Morgan Rhetts says:

I owe you my life; I also accidentally installed the ribbon backwards and couldn't figure out what I'd done wrong until I watched this.

dixseize says:

Thank you, nice and clean explanation

Immortan Jerk says:

Day two with the Elegoo Mars 3 and I'm already replacing my second FEP film. Just had my first FEP puncture, and I think it's because I over-tensioned it during replacement. Inspecting the print surface, I had printed nothing- and I had maybe a dime's worth of hardened resin in the vat.

Studio Ponch says:

Great video,

In relation to having to upgrade the Firmware I ran into issues, turns out I had to Format the USB in a Windows machine, I did it previously on a Mac (FAT32) and never worked.

Wil atheroicstudios says:

I installed my new screen into my saturn and worked for a couple days and then died. I'm not really sure what happened but half of the LCD was not working. Amazon is sending me out another one and based on this video i didn't do anything wrong. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, do you know what caused it? These screens are not cheap

Circuz36 Gaming Channel says:

this was very helpful! Thanks so much!

Jay Venner says:

do you really need to remove the screen protector? I have screen protectors i bought from third party to prevent those nasty resin spills (exactly like the one you changed the lcd because of) that work amazingly. Maybe just remove the tab from the screen protector and leave it on?

MrAcuta73 says:

Just ordered a Saturn S, my first resin printer. Been watching videos on "need to know" items. I think this one will eventually come in handy!

Thanks!

Edit: I might just order a spare FEP and screen to have on-hand. Would beat waiting for a replacement if one or the other or both fails.

ctbram0627 says:

What tape did you use to secure the LCD panel. I have heard Kapton tape but mine seem to have some kind of vinyl tape. So I an not sure what to bu8y.

brandy lightle says:

I replaced the screen! Your video was great. Exposure test and screen worked fine the day and I put it in but the very next day only half the screen is working????

Nick Campana says:

Great video. Have not have to replace either one on my Saturn or Mars 2 but am going to buy one for each for if and when they do go bad. Thank you for the info

Jacob D says:

When you say you "installed the ribbon cable backwards" Does the @10:00 mark show you installing it the correct way or the incorrect way? That is; the 50 pin closest to the side panel – is that correct?

Richard Cox says:

i have sla resin that has leaking onto the light and pcb, still works…trying to replace my screen right now… how would you suggest i clean the rest?

Jacob Schutz says:

Can you leave the screen protector on?

Mike Needham says:

You are a rockstar! Thx so much for this!!!!!!

Ryan Joseph Hanson says:

I love you so much right now. I was having an entirely separate problem with my Z-Axis and this video fixed it for me. I was able to see the correct orientation of the Z-Axis motor and that was my error.

thefett24 says:

Thanks for the video! This helps a lot as I was about to replace my Saturn LCD screen!

伊亜寝一 says:

thank you thank you! You helped me! I can install lcd.

Robin Jarvis says:

This video was incredibly useful. I managed to replace the screen no problem, thank you. But the firmware…. no matter what I do I can't get that rectangle!

Devin Dahl says:

I use the tank clean feature if I have even the slightest bit of evidence of a failure.

GXLAB says:

Well done! Can I ask you which batch is your Saturn?

Jynxx13 says:

Go ahead man, Go ahead! 😉 Great vid!

Boom tendo says:

I didn't crack my screen but it just stopped printing. I haven't put thousands of hours of print time on it. Maybe 50 hours

Ω says:

I don’t own an Elegoo Saturn, but when The ModBot posts, I watch!

Kevin Smith says:

Okay so, overall quality and usability and longevity, Elegoo Anycubic or Creality for a resin printer? To make it easier, just pick the closest model each of the three has to the others so it's just one model from each company. I want to get one and I've narrowed my search down to one of these three companies.

Spencer Cole says:

Oh hey, this is the printer I bought less than 24 hours ago. This is probably a good watch.

Uncle Jessy says:

Oh man oh man this is a super helpful video for folks out there!

Lisa Harshberger says:

You need a quarter jar for every time you say LCD screen
