gotcha. sometimes corrosion can be saved, if only temporary; negative
battery lines tend to fall into this category as well.
Hmm. Well I just thought it was weird that it was just the one pin with the
white corrosion, so I thought better safe than sorry and replaced the whole
thing.
you could’ve cleaned that corrosion easily, either the sponge I used in the
video or some baking soda paste would take it out… be careful of
aftermarket coils though, they don’t have the same quality as OEM and go
out quicker
Well I followed his instructions pretty step by step, up to the point where
I took off the ignition coil module with the two ignition coil packs. When
I did, I saw one of the four pins was white from corrosion. So I went to
Advance and bought a replacement ignition coil pack. Replaced it with the
side that had the white pin, and re-assembled and it was good to go.
What did you do exactly to fixed your problem? Today it the third time the
code showed up. I ignored the first time since June 2013. Service engine
light disappear three times.

Thanks man! That P0341 code had been on for a year, this finally fixed it.
First off, there is no such thing as a 2008 SL1. Next, it sounds like the
engine turns over anyway, so we can safely eliminate internal bindings/loss
of oil from the timing cover being potentially shot, etc.. the next thing
I’d do is try and verify fuel pressure and spark.
About a year ago I changed the plugs and wires and the module on my Saturn
2008 SL1, with air. A few weeks ago the Motor mount bolts broke and the
engine fell about 2 inches onto the serpentine belt, broke the belt and
almost broke the water pump. My nephew fixed it (mechanic) but he works on
diesel so he’s not sure about the rest. Everything was working fine but 2
days ago she got in it to go to school and it wouldn’t start. It tries to
turn over so not a starter. Any suggestions? Thanks
