I FIXED My Cheap Saturn SC2 For $300 NOW It Has POPS AND BANGS

I bought this 2001 Saturn SC2 for $700 and the ad said it had bad clutch. I showed up expected the car to be destroyed but it was far better than I expected. The DOHC 4 cylinder runs great, the body is in excellent shape, and basically just needs a clutch to drive again. I’ve got the clutch ordered so it’s time to tear the transmission out and get ready to replace it… once I got the old clutch out the failure was far different than you’d expect. It wasn’t worn out, it literally broke and parts flew everywhere stranding the car.

2:18 I’m surprised it wouldn’t engage at all, i had a Sentra i drove to the shop, it slipped in any gear if you accelerated to hard but never broke down on me, anyways i was all the way down to the rivets on the clutch and the rivets were actually gouging the flywheel

Very surprising yours wasn’t in as bad of shape but still wouldn’t engage

i have a 96 SC2 that needs a clutch replacement. I've been dreading the job but watching your video makes me want to do it at the crack of dawn. I bought the SC2 for $250 plus going 4 hours roundtrip to get it. I was thinking about selling it but I may have to keep it.

This helped me and my son replace the clutch in his 2000 Saturn SL1. Thank you for helping us keep his 100hp high school hot rod on the road!

Hi, I also have a 2001 saturn sc2 coupe. Bought it new and love it. However I'm having my first problem ever after taking it to my mechanic for new plugs and wires and a replacement coolant temp sensor (he used Forecast 9386 sensor) It's using too much gas and is jerky and hesitant on acceleration. My mechanic still has it at the shop after a week and says he's baffelled as to the cause. You seem so knowledgeable about this car and thought I'd try getting in touch with you for advice if you have thoughts on the problem. Thanks Penny

My God, I can't believe how complicated cars are. I could watch this 10 times and still not get it. Coming from almost no knowledge, it sure is daunting to learn. I just wanted to avoid paying these crooked mechanics.
