Alfredo Hernandez says:

Does this drain all the fluid or only half?

Nicholas Ryan says:

Rich, What is that sensor right next to the filter in this video. I have
broken mine and need to know what part to buy.

Linda Ingram says:

Very very good…..

Geoff Hernandez says:

i have a code p0732

richpin06a says:

Google “saturn reverse slam” and see if it fits the problems you are having.

Geoff Hernandez says:

is it safe to use..additives on my transmition..

Geoff Hernandez says:

hey man…my saturn..wont go in reverse…its low in fluid u think thats
the problem..all others gears work fine

Geoff Hernandez says:

how do i do that…i dont understand..

richpin06a says:

@spelunkerd Yes it needs to be running.

hnkfsh81 says:

Thanks for the great video. However, I found easy access to the trans
filter from underneath the raised car which saved a lot of steps.
Otherwise, awesome.

juice1171 says:

great video, im sure i ll nned to do that very soon in my saturn, so i be
watching you video a few more times. thanks again..

swiften says:

what about the internal filter? have you ever changed that one?

Tony Thatcher says:

the prob with my stick its bolted on so its pain

Penguin Hacker says:

Great vid as always. Any chance you could make one on changing the oil pan
gasket and or the fuel pump. What do think about the $30 fuel system/pump
treatment that GM says can reverse pump wear from running it low on gas?
Much cheaper than changing the pump but wanted to know if you had any
dealings with it. Thanks so much!

richpin06a says:

@Koolbreaze7 I believe the dex/merc is a good replacement.

Louski sands says:

rich pin man you are the greatest you saved me lots of time and money going
to gas stations that fix one thing and while their under the hood they cut
your cv boots or loosen other parts hoping the victim will come back, any
way thank tou rich pin you should set up a donation link

Mr. .Tom says:

Never mind, it went off.

tansuturdag says:

Hi rickpin, The other day I saw that my manual transmission is leaking oil.
Can you explain how I can check the transmission oil level for manual
shift? Thanks.

michael rowe says:

it has been 183,506 miles scince i changed my fluid

richpin06a says:

The 2.2 L is different. You should not wait for a sign because some damage
might already be done by then.

tansuturdag says:

do we fill the oil from the same spot? Also in some forums I read that for
high milage car to put motor oil in transmission. Is this true or is just
regular ATF to be put? Thank you for all your help.

richpin06a says:

It is recommended you change the automatic transmission fluid every 30,000
miles.

andersonvillas1277 says:

easy job! LOL!

dieseldolittle2 says:

@Richpin. Great video. Is there a difference between Dexron for GM cars and
Dexron for Ford. And if so, why is there a difference?

situationmoney says:

I’m not familiar with this model of Saturn, but don’t you also have to
drain the torque converter to get all of the old transmission fluid out of
the transmission? Not sure if you would have to do that on this model of
Saturn…

se4587 says:

They said that “disturbing” the old fluid with new fluid would stir up old
sediment; my argument would be that’s what the filter is for 🙂 Thanks for
the reply, keep up the great videos!

FireHorse11291966 says:

I’m all for that donation link, and the T-shirts. My wife and I have saved
a lot of money in the past few years. And it seems like everyone at the
auto stores know who you are when you say I got a little help from richpin.
Lol

Teddy Maggie says:

Hi Phillip and richpin ( FYI: I have had email conv. with richpin regarding
my problem). I had a transmission leak and eventually hard shifting problem
after i shifted gear from “D” to “2” while going 75 mph because of
emergency. Anyways, the shop changed filter and charged me $200 for it. The
fluid leak stopped but it makes whining noise. Philip let me know if you
figure out a cause for that noise. Mine makes it when I first start the car
and hit gas and stops once I drive for a min.

richpin06a says:

@GTVAlfaMan The magnet goes in the hollow area inside the end of the filter.

fbruno082 says:

great instructions! but, you can do this in a 2002 saturn L100?

richpin06a says:

I am glad to hear that.

Jetubeb says:

How often you have to change the Transmission Fluid & filter. I have a 2002
e46.

Oden Ridge says:

Hi Rich. My son’s car is a 1995 SL1 with the SOHC engine and automatic
transmission. He purchased it used and has no owner’s manual. The car is
working great but we want to make sure that we keep up on the recommended
maintenance. Can you tell me what the recommended interval for changing the
ATF is? Thanks in advance.

LANCE REQUA says:

It should be running and up to operating temperature. Then you can check
the level while in park. The dipstick should say check while idling in
park. It may say neutral but more than likely it’s park.

richpin06a says:

There are two nuts that have to be replaced under the drivers side end
cover on the transmission. If you go to saturnfans you will find a lot of
information on this subject.

generatrix999 says:

Change the (transmission) valve body, its pretty easy. They sell rebuilt
ones on ebay (its where i got mine), send em back your core, about $120
total. The TAAT tranny is pretty bullit proof.

Louski sands says:

rich how can you tell when your saturn trans filter is clogged

richpin06a says:

I do not think it is a good idea keeping dirtying fluid in a transmission.
