Yikes, I've just seen the price for the cup holder. I'll stick to using the misses to hold my drink..lol
I have that 'smart socket' too in my 2006 SportCombi. I've never used it as I've never known its purpose. Are there other options for its use or does everyone just ignore it?

What a lot of rubbish,why would a cup holder be so important,if I could remove my cup holders I would any way I do not permit drinking of anything in my car.
Beware of that smart socket cupholder. Great way to dump a softdrink into the ignition switch. Nonetheless a great conversation piece! Loved having one in my car.
You should be able to modify the tray and mount that the popout cupholder resides in, to extend that faceplate out a half inch to allow that cupholder to get past the radio. Would be worth the effort.
