After finding the Engine Computer SWIMMING in a box of water, I don’t have high hopes of bringing this ECM back to life….
Luckily, the owner has a SPARE ECM on the shelf!
While he is bringing it over, let’s hook up the PICOSCOPE and see if the flooded ECM is showing any signs of life…

One question from a non mechanic. Did the gent replace the first computer with an already waterlogged duff unit? Was he sold a dud?
Soak in warm distilled water, scrub with soft toothbrush, rinse is warm distilled water, soak in 90% isopropyl alcohol for 20 minutes, rinse with 90% isopropyl alcohol, allow to air dry unless you have dried shop air.
WHY WOULD YOU THINK THE ECM WOULD BE GOOD AFTER ALL THAT WATER INTRUSION?
The other three type 4 cars have their ECMs under the dash, interesting that SAAB thought having the ECM there is a good idea

You need the codes & what they mean from what saw it was 1-5-1-5 which would turn into 1515 DTC what ever that is in SAAB codes. Go to SAAB Central it should help it is a forum. Cheers Ivan.
