Welcome to the Channel! In today’s episode I install the GlafenSaab rear LED tail light conversion kit. This is an easy kit to install and only needs a few tools to get the job done.

The video is a bit long, however I wanted to make sure to 100% document the entire process and include any issues I ran into since you may run into the same. Please let me know of any questions in the comments below.

Check your tail light holders before installation to verify whether yours are damaged or not.

Just swapping a LED bulb with CAN BUS does not work?

Danut Moldovan says:

Hi.
For europe, we don't need the brake light to blink.
What wired should we use only for the blinker?
Thx

Will Stadler says:

Hi Joe very informative videos of the Saab repairs. I have replace the rear boot led cluster and now have water condensation in the light. How can I clear this without removing the whole bar. Is this possible?? Help and advise will be much appreciated

Jeff Jennings says:

I have a 9-5. I started with a burned out passenger turn signal bulb on passenger side. I replaced with a new hella bulb and a new Saab Oem socket for good measure. The turn signal now works but I keep getting cluster error and fast blinking after a few secs. I did the same for the driver side seeing issues with these. No sign of melting and lamp prongs look to be good condition. Any advice on what to do would be greatly appreciated.

Gisselo Hacker says:

Yeah so we have the wheel on the same side (left) as you do in US here in Europe, only in UK they have the steering wheel on the other side (right).

Jose Estrada says:

So that's why the computer throws the bulb failure code when the turn signal is on.
One more question the angel halo lights don't work on my 2010, so you have any idea why.

Jose Morales says:

So tail light wire has melted on the tail light of my ng 9-5. Is it possible to disassemble the tail light to soldering a new metal for the contact to the bulb? Or possibly a different solution to this problem?

basilleonardo says:

When you say the resistors get pretty hot, just how hot do they get? Should they be even farther from the lining or is where you put them OK?

Douglas Dunn says:

The reason the bulb sockets melt is that the halogen bulbs (OEM and aftermarket) burn too hot. The driver's side usually goes first because your left turn signal is on longer as you wait to make a left turn. So, replace with LED's and good sockets and things are good. Very good video – thanks.

Allrock123 says:

it is also possible to adapt the original halogen lamps to non halogen lamps that dont melt there lamp holders..

P. Lo says:

Just installed the kit and I wired it incorrectly so thank you for doing the video cause I reviewed it and saw what I was doing wrong. Took less than half an hour to do the whole thing. Thanks again

YH says:

Great job! I think I broke a sweat when I saw you removing that incredibly expensive and irreplaceable tail lamp assembly and held it with one hand 🙂

Kristofer Blair says:

Do you have any experience of replacing the "hockey stick" trims on the rear windows?

saabertx says:

Hello.. Because of the heat generated from the resistor , did you leave off the little trunk liner covers that covers that area… ? Will the heat affect that piece?

Parker A says:

Currently have a 2010 9-3 and thinking about replacing it with an 11 9-5 Bio that has a 6 speed and 125k miles. Any thoughts on this?

Abb (Lugi Dogg) says:

Dang, it already sold out?
