[DIY] Porsche 911 – Repair Cracks in Carbon Fiber

This is my attempt at repairing the cracks in the carbon fiber steering wheel of my 996 Porsche 911 Turbo with the carbon fiber interior package. I was able to restore the carbon fiber to a better condition. I wouldn’t say it is like new, but it is much better than what it was.

You don’t really need anything special to do this job. You need to get the following:
– Epoxy Resin – Amazon or Craft Store
– Sandpaper (various grits) – Amazon or Hardware Store or Auto Parts Store
– Polish – Amazon or Auto Parts Store
– Polishing Pads – Amazon or Auto Parts Store

This was a good vid. Do you have a link of which epoxy and hardener you used? Did it take many applications? Yours seems to be for scratches. Any cracks repaired?

good video. have the same problem. was planning on trying the same as you did. however after watching your video. I wonder if your cracks are slightly visible due to sanding dust in the cracks. what if lightly resin the wheel to seal the cracks then sand and apply the finish layer to polish.
