hweenmask says:

best video on bleeding/explaining how it works
thanks

Don Matthews says:

I thought there was a little play in the clutch pedal of my m roadster. Now
the pedal goes all the way to the floor and I can’t drive my car at all
until I get a pressure bleeder in the mail. I even tried a large syringe to
force fluid through. I can see the reservoir fill up, but the clutch does
not engage when I push the pedal. I would advise to only try this if you
also have a pressure bleeder as a backup!

BERLINGO4255 says:

This is an excellent way it worked well for me thanks for posting

cobalt1959 says:

Have an ’04 Acura RSX. This didn’t work at all. Fluid would not flow up
from the slave. It was like something was blocking it.

Exzeilerator says:

How much pumping of the clutch should it take (roughly) for the system to
be bleed properly if I were to do it the opposite ay as shown in this
video? I’m just wondering because I pumped the clutch 10 times and got my
clutch to have pressure, but it would stick and not last. So i;m assuming
my bleeding sucked so this method will definitely work, or is my system
likely dickered?

Ryan Price says:

Thanks for the video, a great demonstration on how the system works.

SthlmFARSTASTRAND says:

Are the line same length in a real car?

fixitluis says:

this helped me big time i was stuck for hours with a isuzu amigo and the
bleeder points downward i even tried unhooking it and pointing it upwards
no pedal pressure, i tried this and problem solved in 5 minutes

Pistolleta says:

I have a 1999 e36 m3 and I just put in a new abs hydro unit and my car has
asc+t so brake reservoir is empty and the pump is empty of oil so can I use
this procedure to bleed the system from the rear passenger brake and
eventually work my way to the clutch by pushing the fluid from the calipers
to the reservoir. Can this procedure be a problem in this case or it is
fine, since the fluid tends to go up in the clutch slave cylinder then it
must be the same for the line from the brake caliper up.

oszyby says:

Very nice presentation. Thnx.

jlboygenius says:

Wow. I wish i had seen this video before I attempted to do this. I could
never get all the bubbles out using a normal vacuum pump to pull the fluid
out the bleeder. And why does BMW use a 7mm bleed screw? Who has a 7mm
wrench?!? I had to make a quick trip to Advance Auto for one of those.

528im52 says:

@austineswann1 Yes, this will work when bleeding brake lines as well.

coil2daover says:

what did you expect from a clutch bleeding video? Sylvester Stallone
blowing shit up?

528im52 says:

What vehicle year, make, and model do you have? That seems strange, if this
was happening it means that something is blocking the fluid flow.

ihazpowrz says:

This in my opinion is a last resort method. A good vacuum bleeder should
handle almost all of your bleeding needs. I would never do this unless all
of the clutch hydraulics were new. The reason being that contaminants such
as flakes of metal from corrodes pipes could be pushed up into the
reservoir and taken in by the brake master, or worse fed into the ABS
module. If you have ever strained out fluid from an old slave or caliper,
you know what crap I’m talking about.

Ivesy1uk says:

My e30 325ic has its own resevoir for the clutch??????

ccommie says:

Thanks….you might save me hours

Sergei Kuzin says:

This made the clutch bleeding job so easy and quick. Thank you so much for
your help!

BluePurpleRed Guides says:

Neat video! Thanks for helping to explain how this works.

Ryan Price says:

FUCK outa here!

36andywolfe says:

I think that you may have the clutch slave and clutch master cylinders
mixed up

GaryKist says:

I just rebuilt the slave cylinder from my Porsche….this will be helpful.
I bled the clutch system the traditional way in the past and it took
forever.

serchmarc says:

thx ill try to remove all the bad fluid just with the normal way thx

RSTDriver7 says:

@sphinxx187 you should try teflon/thread seal tape. i had the identical
problem and solved it that way. best regards, Phil

serchmarc says:

i dont have a tripod and the clutchsystem is already set and you are the
1st one to ask that,.but remove all the system from the reservoir to the
slave.then remove the bad fluid, separate the flex hose from the
line.,,service the slave:remove nipple and see is stucked.inside, clean if
necessary with comp air, remove the piston and chek the seals,if these or
this are hard enough replace them withnew ones.apply glicol special
wax, sand the slave(interior),clean all the lines, bleed is hard to tell here

vr6wings says:

quick question, my vw shares one reservoir for both clutch and brakes like
he mentioned. So with an empty or almost empty reservoir, what should be
bled first, the clutch or the brakes? Cuz my manual says to bleed brakes,
master then slave. Thanks.

Israel Garibay says:

My 98 E36 323i creaks every time I depress the clutch pedal. Do you think
bleeding the system could silent the creak?

Radu Blaga says:

nice video Thank you for posting. Radu

Chudi Knight says:

Hi, this didn’t work for me. the fluid kept coming out of the threads where
bleeder screws in, didn’t matter how much I loosened or tighten. I used a
3ft clear hose and it was air tight to the bleeder and oil pump =( what did
I not do or wrong? Thanx in advance.

Tom Huffman says:

This was a waste of time. I tried this on my 94 Supra and all I got was my
pedal to the floor. I picked up a oil can from Habor Freight and followed
the instructions. I had more pressure before I did this. Both the mastrer
and slave are new.

528im52 says:

Just verifying, you should have the fluid reservoir cap off in the engine
bay, and the clutch pedal should be all the way out. It sounds like the
piston in the slave is in the way or there is something keeping pressure on
the line.

latif budak says:

Thanks for the video , it helped alot

528im52 says:

Hello, we offer these catch bottles, the link to the bottle is now in the
description of this video.

TheLordofShell says:

This didn’t work for me at all I didn’t even see bubbles

Tatoke kokipa says:

Correct i just had mine replaced few days ago total cost 50 euro, the
bottom peace costed 30 euro.

CRDLIBERTY says:

I did my 85 bmw 325e. Purchase both slave and clutch cyl. I also went and
purchased might vac well worth it for this job. I also got lots of brake
fluid. Bleed the brakes at same time, I ran lots fluid through and got all
air out without to much effort. Symptom was i parked my car at costco came
back pedal on floor. Maybe old fluid just was sticky but replaced all parts.

jim macdonald says:

awsome video. this saved me so much hassle. Thank you for posting. worked
100% and took 5 mins well done

Chudi Knight says:

Serchmarc. Did u ever figure it out? I’m about to try again.

Edson Michel says:

thnx, this video helped me big time.

Oscar Olander says:

Gosh,,, All these things to bleed the clutch!! The correct way to do it is
to press the slave cylinder piston all the way in.. Open the bleed screw.
Wait for the liquid. Close the bleed screw. Release the piston slowly.
Repeat if necessary.Always keep the bleed screw in the highest position and
check the fluid level!

jragan says:

@sphinxx187 Didn’t see it mentioned in the video, but in order for this to
work, you’ll have to have the cap off of the reservoire otherwise you’re
trying to force new fluid into a closed system and you’ll encounter
resistence which could push it out through the threads of the bleeder.

ukgodsavethequeen says:

Great video. Good tip with the oil can.

Muath Al-Essa says:

Any idea on how to bleed a SMG system? E60 M5 Sequential Manual
Transmission. Thanks for the videos.

serchmarc says:

SIMPLE BUT EFECTIVETHXSO MUCH

528im52 says:

@vr6wings I would go by the manual’s instructions, but general rule of
thumb is to start bleeding at the furthest point away from the reservoir
and work your way closer.

Chudi Knight says:

I just tried again and It didn’t work, again. I took the slave cylinder
back out and put it back togather and it still didn’t work. I hope u have a
better luck. what kind of vehicle do you have? let me know if you succeed?
