thanks for keepin it real…
I plan to do a 1989 trans am with a 460 twin turbo

brent underwood says:

love working on smallblock chevys and trans ams 🙂

RamblinAround says:

It probably took about 5 minutes to actually get it to line up. I had a
jack with a board under the tranny pan, so that I could raise and lower it
a bit to help line things up. We had to shove on the engine a bit to get it
to go back far enough to fall onto the motor mounts. It is the toughest
part of the whole process, but it wasn’t too bad. It definitely helps to
have two people.

208stroker1 says:

looking good buddy i love detailing and painting engine bays…motor
ect…caint wait to see and hear this beast running.

wheelman20012002 says:

Can’t wait to see more on that …. Great job bud

RamblinAround says:

Yes, I can get all the gauges working properly. The main things that have
to be rewired are the fuel pump, torque converter lockup, and the electric
fans. You’re right, the check engine light will have to be disconnected.

shartne says:

Well that is too bad your loosing a couple miles per gallon and that hurts.
My truck only gets about 19 miles on the highway and I m really hate it but
I cant figure out why. no check engine light and the injectors are cleaned
regularly every other tank so I have no idea. But the car your making is a
hot rod so giving up mileage is going to happen on a lot of stuff with all
the modifications.

Geoff Szilagyi says:

Wow this is so interesting to watch. I have the same car, and I watch every
video you post about your bird. Can’t wait to see the end result! You guys
have came a long way so far in the time you’ve owned it! Happy holidays!
Keep em coming!

jnmanz28 says:

Great project! Will be watching and following the progress!

RamblinAround says:

You’re right, those 305 heads make some good power on a 350.

RamblinAround says:

He has already learned a couple of little tricks that he didn’t know
before. We’re having fun working on it. I bought the carb and fuel
regulator today, so we can keep moving forward with it.

UPRRfan says:

Glad to see everything went smooth! Cant wait to see more!

79tazman says:

It’s easy to get the bell housing bolts with a wrench but it’s even faster
to pull the tranny with the motor

RamblinAround says:

No, I think I’m going to reuse it on the new engine.

Rick Smooth says:

Nice! i remember when me and my dad did that when i was 18 we put a 350
buick eng in a 80 Cutlass Supreme, we took the blown v6 out, that the good
old days.

RamblinAround says:

I’m glad to hear that…thanks for watching along. I hope you all are
having a Merry Christmas too!

805ROADKING says:

That wasn’t bad at all!! I remember cutting access holes in the floorboards
before to make things easier. Good job Fellas!!☺

RamblinAround says:

Glad you like the vids…thanks for watching!

RamblinAround says:

I’ve done it both ways, I think there are positives and negatives to either
method. I wouldn’t say that one is better than the other.

RamblinAround says:

Glad you like these videos, we’ll have many more on the way. Thanks for
watching, we appreciate it!

shartne says:

they sell a temperature sensor and relay for the electric fan. I guess you
will have to talk to the tanny shop about the lock part dont know what they
sell to make it engage. You didnt unhook the transmission anywhere? or did
you ? Fuel pump can be hooked to a relay and a toggle switch I think like
they used to do on racecars.

Ron Dean says:

My son and I enjoy all of your videos. Merry Christmas.

RamblinAround says:

Thanks, I’m happy to have a son that actually shares the same interests
too. Thanks for watching…Happy Holidays!

RamblinAround says:

The last time I did this swap, I replaced the pickup in the gas tank and
put a manual pump on the side of the engine.

RamblinAround says:
